About this audiobook

Award-winning Karma Wilson, author of Bear Snores On, has created the delightful Hilda Hippo-a hippo who loves to dance despite all the noise she makes while doing so. It's just that the Ka-bump! Ka-bump! Crash! Crash! Crash! noises disturb her jungle friends. Maybe Hilda could take up knitting? But knitting doesn't quite suit the would-be ballerina. Perhaps she and her friends can find some sort of compromise!

Karma Wilson

Karma Wilson's first poem was published at the tender age of six. The poem was ironically titled, "I Don't Wanna Write a Poem!" Growing up, she had no desire to write. But Providence had different plans, and now Karma writes poems for a living when she's not busy being a wife and raising three kids. Karma is the bestselling author of Bear Snores On and Bear Wants More, as well as If I Were a Mouse, Give Thanks to the Lord, and I Will Rejoice.

Hilda never gave up her passion of dancing even though the others complained about it. She finally found a way where she can dance without anyone complaining was in the water. The illustration was so bright and big the children would enjoy it. I think the meaning behind this story is never give up your passion even thought no one likes it.

I loved this book. It told the story of a hippo who just loves to dance. The illustrations were so bright and detailed. I enjoyed the pictures just as much as the cute story.

Excellent read-aloud, lots of noise and interaction. Hilda loves to dance but she is just so loud when she does. Her friends all suggest different hobbies, none are as fun as dancing. When someone suggests swimming, she has found a new love-water ballet. Awesome!
