About this audiobook

In this explosive psychological thriller by New York Times bestselling author Lisa Unger, a young woman’s mysterious gift lands her in the middle of a dangerous investigation of a little girl’s disappearance.

For as long as she can remember, twenty-year-old Finley Montgomery has been able to see into the future: dream about things before they happen, see beyond the physical world, and unconsciously make supernatural things happen. But Finley can’t control these powers, and moves to The Hollows to live with her grandmother, a renowned seer who can help Finely understand and master her gifts. But once in The Hollows, Finley’s gift proves to be both a blessing and a curse.

Like Finley, Merri and Wolf Montgomery are in the worst possible hell. Their daughter Abbey has been missing for ten months. Leads exhausted, the police have all but given up hope; but Merri is unable to shake the feeling that time is running out, and makes a desperate, last ditch effort to locate her daughter.

Finley and Merri are on winding, treacherous paths towards the same point. When they finally come together in The Hollows, nothing is as it seems. But one thing is clear: The Hollows always gets what it wants.

I enjoyed the suspense of the story though the ‘twists’ were hinted at very clearly. Also sorry to say I found the voice artist/reader too monotone.

the story is fantastic. the narrator a bit mechanical. you need to really pay attention as there is some floating in and out of reality. i would have given it a five star rating except the narrator did get on my nerves at times.

Great book, but the narrator was horrible! Only reason I kept listening was because the story was good enough to get through it.

Basically a good story but overwritten and too long. Did not like the narrator—bland voice.

I loved the premise and the writing is flawless. However, it was about 10 chapters too long. It seemed to run out of plot and just kept going.

This is a multifaceted, complex mystery - interweaving fantasy, horror, suspense, and exploration of relationships between couples and within families. The psychic element of some of the characters was sufficiently sophisticated in nature - interwoven with a realism and not overt - that it made it easier to suspend disbelief and lose myself in the story. There were times when the pacing might have been better, where it dragged a little. Hang in there, if you notice this, it's well worth sticking it out to the conclusion. Highly recommend this as an excellent read.

It was a very well written book with unexpected twists and turns. A paranormal mystery that literally brought me to tears and made me hug my son hard. I won’t ruin the story but I know this had to be a hard story to write. Though I selfishly wish there were more Finley stories to read. ❤️

Started off real good Very interesting but then about half way through started to get confusing. You lost me. Also didn’t like the sound of some of the voices. A bit annoying sounding zombie like and broken speech like “see dick run”

Good Lisa Unger Hollows book features the psychic granddaughter of Eloise. The main focus is looking for a missing young girl, and then possibly two or more. Heartbreaking ordeal for the young girl.

    HORRIBLE NARRATOR!!!!!!!
The story wasn’t that bad. It kept my interest. The narrator was the worst I’ve ever heard. There was no She made the characters with no emotions. It was equal to listening to a 8th grader standing up in front of the class reading his homework. Her voice is not easy on the ears. Which in turn completely ruined the entire story. Very disappointed with whoever hired her. Friendly advice(my opinion). You would really, really have to like the author to listen to the entire book. Beware, you have been warned!!

It took me a bit to get into the story, once I was interested it kept me wanting to know what happened next. when they finally get to the climax it was quite exciting but then this weird switch up, you followed these characters for so long that it just let me down. this would make a decent movie if it hadn't already.

I went ahead and gave this book 5 stars. The story is great! Even though the twist at the end is a bit heartbreaking. I will definitely be reading more of Lisa Unger. The only problem with this audio book is the narration. The narrator was pretty bad. You kind of had to replay the words in your head to get the correct inflection and feel of what is being said.

Terrible. Kind of an interesting premise but poorly executed. Main character made me cringe. Poorly written which makes it hard to follow. You have no idea when the heck certain things have taken or are are taking place. Skip this one.

I thought the story was good (though slow in some parts), but the narrator's reading style was very hard to listen to. She enunciated the words so that even when adults were speaking, they sounded like a child sounding out words for the first time.

Story was good until it became hard to follow because of the writing style and probably more because of the narrator. Her cadence and inflection were all over the place. Sometimes felt like she just learned to read recently. Maybe she had a migraine on those recording days? I stopped listening with 30 minutes remaining. Did it end any better?
