About this audiobook

Winner of the Scott O'Dell Award for Historical Fiction and the California Young Reader Medal, Graham Salisbury injects his books with the exotic color of his native Hawaii. Continuing the story begun in Under the Blood-Red Sun, House of the Red Fish returns to Honolulu one year after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Thirteen-year-old Japanese American Tomi Nakaji must struggle to support his family after the arrest of his father and grandfather.

House of the Red Fish is a companion to Under the Blood Red Sun, although it could be called as sequel. It continues the story of Tomi and his family in the years following Pearl Harbor. We see Tomi begin making decisions as the man of the house to stay strong and moral through all the horrible mistreatment that he is put through. I didn't think that I could like any book as much as I liked Under the Blood Red Sun, but I do think that this one is even better.
