About this audiobook

In a wonderful evening of storytelling, laughter, and plenty of music, Garrison Keillor is joined by The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, led by Philip Brunelle and accompanied by Richard Dworsky. #8220;Philip and I have performed together with a long list of great orchestras, among them the New York Philharmonic, Boston Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Minnesota Orchestra, and the San Francisco Symphony. After years on the road, we brought the show home to St. Paul and the phenomenal Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra. The Fitzgerald audience was treated to favorites like Homage to the Aunts, Lake Wobegon Hymn, Seven Love Sonnets, Habanera, Song of the Exiles, and much more. The Saint Paul Chamber is the first orchestra I ever heard, when I was a freshman at the U, and now that I#8217;m winding up my modest orchestral career, I#8217;d like to wind it up at home with the hometown band.#8221; -Garrison Keillor

Garrison Keillor

Garrison Keillor, born in Anoka, Minnesota, in 1942, is an essayist, columnist, blogger, and writer of sonnets, songs, and limericks, whose novel Pontoon the New York Times said was “a tough-minded book . . . full of wistfulness and futility yet somehow spangled with hope”—no easy matter, especially the spangling. Garrison Keillor wrote and hosted the radio show A Prairie Home Companion for more than forty years, all thanks to kind aunts and good teachers and a very high threshold of boredom. In his retirement, he’s written a memoir and a novel. He and his wife, Jenny Lind Nilsson, live in Minneapolis and New York.
