About this audiobook

HBO’s hit series A GAME OF THRONES is based on George R. R. Martin’s internationally bestselling series A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE, the greatest fantasy epic of the modern age. A FEAST FOR CROWS is the fourth volume in the series.

The Lannisters are in power on the Iron Throne.

The war in the Seven Kingdoms has burned itself out, but in its bitter aftermath new conflicts spark to life. The Martells of Dorne and the Starks of Winterfell seek vengeance for their dead. Euron Crow’s Eye, as black a pirate as ever raised a sail, returns from the smoking ruins of Valyria to claim the Iron Isles.

From the icy north, where Others threaten the Wall, apprentice Maester Samwell Tarly brings a mysterious babe in arms to the Citadel. As plots, intrigue and battle threaten to engulf Westeros, victory will go to the men and women possessed of the coldest steel and the coldest hearts.

Weaker than the previous books in the GoT saga, but not bad. Voice actor carries the book even through the more boring parts. Very rarely gets the accents a bit mixed up, but nothing to get upset about. An enjoyable listen, even though a bit boring at times.

It is a good book just like all the other books in the series. Some of the POV characters are very compelling and the book in general did have some excellent moments. The World building, characterization, atmosphere and that feeling of authenticity are all still big positives of this book.

However, i can not deny that this book feels long and at times, aimless. It didn't help me that most chapters went well over 45 minutes whilst, in all honesty, not being as interesting as those in A Clash Of Kings which i consider to be my favourite. Generally, some POV characters are more interesting than others and the weaknesses in GRRMs writing feel more more apparent with the book being that much longer.

Having said all that, it is still very entertaining. And once again, Narrated superbly. I'd have given it a 7/10 but since there are no halves, 4 stars.

This book is the weakest in the series so far. The stories are dull and repetitive, feeling much more of a filler book compared to its predecessors. It only has a few memorable moments, with most of them being slow and uninteresting.

The quality of the recording is also terrible! You can hear papers rustling, the speaker moves close and further from the microphone making jumps in sound levels, and at some times you can even hear background sounds as if this was recorded at home rather than a studio. Overall extremely disappointing.

Not as good as last book but still good.
Lot of major characters were not present so much on this book.

Just amazing, I loved this! The narrator is literally the best of the best and the author too.

Not better than the first three books. There was a little disconnect in the chapters related to iron islands. Still better than a hundred novels I've read.
