About this audiobook

Accused of a horrific murder she didn't commit, former heiress Callie Ward has been a fugitive since she was sixteen-until she found the perfect hideout, Club Dominion. The only problem is that she's fallen for the club's master, Mitchell Thorpe, who keeps her at arm's length. Little does she know that his reasons for not getting involved have everything to do with his wounded heart . . . and his consuming desire for her.

Enter Sean Kirkpatrick, a Dom who's recently come to Dominion and taken a pointed interest in Callie. Hoping to make Thorpe jealous, she submits to Sean one shuddering sigh at a time. It isn't long before she realizes she's falling for him too. But the tender lover who's seducing her body and slowly earning her trust isn't who he claims to be.

When emotions collide and truths are exposed, Sean is willing to risk all to keep Callie from slipping through his fingers. But he's not the only man looking to stake a claim. Now Callie is torn between Sean and Thorpe, and though she's unsure whom she can trust, she'll have to surrender her body and soul to both-if she wants to elude a killer.

This story was kind of hard to swallow. The two men in the menage have very little in common except being in love with the same woman. They don't really like each other, so it makes it hard to understand them accepting a menage together. Otherwise, the story was good.

This one felt off to me...I felt like Thorpe got the shaft for the majority of the book. Maybe it was just that I didn't really care for Sean? Sadly my least favorite of the series.

This was actually one of my favorite of this series. While at times I felt it dwelled too much on the main character's feelings (the same ones over and over and over), I felt they were all well rounded. What I liked most about it was what I think a lot of novels are missing these days and that is an ending! The story didn't just stop once the crisis was over, there was closure for the characters that was satisfying to the readers. Looking forward to the next installment.

I have very conflicted emotions about this book. For the most part I enjoyed the story very much, however there were times I just want to throw it against the wall. It was nice to finally get the whole story on Callie Ward. Her story is has had great heart break and terror that has lasted for nearly a decade. She has overcome tremendous odds and stayed alive when so many teenage would know how to leave their homes without their phones and friends. I was very surprise to find that she was an heiress and that her real name is Callindra Howe. I can’t much more about Callie since it would give away too much of the story. I will say that she is an intelligent, compassionate and loving woman that deserved a happy ending with the men that protected and loved her so well.We also get the whole story of Mitchell Thorpe and I have to say I was heartbroken to learn what he had gone through. Unfortunately his story is not unfamiliar and it happens much too often. I am surprised that it affected him so deeply. I am also surprised that he is so set that his age would make a difference in his relationship with Callie. I have to respect the man that he was willing to work with Sean Mackenzie to form a menage that would make Callie happy. I am sure with his possessive and protective instincts it was hard to let Sean into that relationship. Thorpe is a wealthy man that could whoever he wanted but only Callie ever affected his heart and soul. For all his intelligence and cool headedness he is still a teenager could in the web of the adults that betrayed him.Sean “KirkPatrick” MacKenzie has pulled the wool over even Thorpe’s eyes for seven months. It is both funny and sad when Thorpe realizes who Sean works for. Sean does himself proud as an undercover agent. He is also head over heels in love with Callie. Sean is quick witted, intelligent and up to the point of meeting Callie driven to succeed at his job. Sean hasn't been in the BDSM scene long mostly because he has been working so hard but he isn't the hard core Dominant that Thorpe is. Sean is much more willing to work with Thorpe in sharing Callie. He just wants what will make her happy. I liked Sean from the beginning and I was glad that he was able to work things out in the end. This is a very fast paced story that has lots of valley and mountains. The emotions that it draws from the reader can be difficult at times. I would advise keeping some tissues handy. There is a dark, lurking evil that tried to kill Callie when she was a teenager and is still trying to kill through most of the story. While there are some ideas who is behind all the violence that organization isn't caught in this story. There aren't any m/m scenes in this story. Thorpe and Sean work together to keep Callie satisfied and safe. There is some spanking, bondage and some creative use of household items to punish Callie and there are lots of steamy hot love scenes. Those scenes don’t over power the story however.

Review courtesy of Dark Faerie TalesQuick & Dirty: Black did some things well in Theirs to Cherish and others that didn’t hit the mark with me. While the backstory of why Callie came to work at Club Dominion was mildly interesting, the characters themselves were tiring and unbelievable. I don’t recommend this story for anyone uncomfortable with detailed descriptions of physical and emotional domination.Opening Sentence: Callie trembled as she lay back on the padded table and Sean Kirkpatrick’s strong fingers wrapped around her cuffed wrist, guiding it back to the bindings above her head. The Review:Callie Ward is in love with two very different men.One runs the BDSM club where Callie has found an unexpected refuge from her life on the run. This man embodies the definition of a “dominant,” capable of stripping her defenses and setting her body aflame in equal measure, but has repeatedly kept her at arm’s length. She wears the collar of the other, a gentle man who’s sworn to own her body and soul. This man is everything Thorpe isn’t: patient, adoring and someone she can easily imagine spending the rest of her life with. Which is a huge problem thanks to Callie’s past. Not wanting to bring either man into her dangerous game of hide and seek, Callie is determined to finally cut ties after spending one night in the arms of both. Learning that the man she found herself falling for was hiding his own secrets – secrets that only strengthen her resolve to get as far as possible from them both before anyone gets hurt. Luckily for her, the two men are so busy figuratively comparing penis sizes that she’s able to play them both and escape. Her sudden reappearance after four years of hiding within the secluded walls of Dominion doesn’t go unnoticed though. Armed uniformed men are waiting for her, men that are very clearly not the police or FBI agents she’s used to eluding.Being the dominant males they are, Thorpe and Sean aren’t willing to allow Callie to disappear from their lives without a fight. After admitting what they both know about her past, they’re convinced that Callie cannot take care of herself or evade this new threat without their help. They begrudgingly agree to put their mutual jealousy aside in order to protect Callie from the threat these new men pose. Essentially kidnapping her from the Vegas strip club where she’d been making easy money, Thorpe and Sean make it very clear that they’re more than content to teach her what it means to be a submissive until they can figure out why so many people are after her.I have to admit that seeing a ménage book on my review list reminded me of how it felt the first time I bought condoms: a little naughty, a lot nervous and unable to look anyone in the eyes. It’s not that I didn’t have a general idea of what to expect. After all, regardless of the genders or number of people involved, human anatomy somewhat limits the number of sexual positions. But Theirs to Cherish isn’t just a ménage story. It’s also a BDSM story with emotional domination that far exceeded my comfort level. Some of this discomfort is because no longer having free will or decision-making abilities in any aspect of life, not just sexual terms, doesn’t interest to me in the least. I had a very difficult time with how both men treated Callie and ultimately didn’t see their interactions as erotic. This uneasiness definitely altered my perception of the story until even the dialogue became exasperating. I lost count of how many times – and how many characters – referred to Callie as “minx” or “vixen” or some cheesy variation thereof because she didn’t act submissive enough. The number of inconsistencies with the characters also became an issue with me. Callie was a self-confessed spoiled heiress who was forced into hiding at sixteen after a horrendous tragedy. Falling into the sex industry – stripping or otherwise – makes sense since she didn’t have to answer too many questions about her past, but where or how would she have perfected the skills to masterfully elude highly trained soldiers or agents? If she was so frightened of having a dominant break through her barriers, why did she work as a submissive in a BDSM club? Wouldn’t becoming a dominant have been a better way to cover her tracks? Then there’s Sean and Thorpe. I know they were both so hopelessly in love with Callie that they were willing to put her “needs” first, but these were supposed to be alpha males and dominants. Yet, beside from willingly beating her and taking away her free will, neither Sean nor Thorpe were believable as alpha males. Thorpe was too busy wallowing in self-pity and acting like a bitter old man to be even remotely attractive while Sean came off as a weak-willed sucker. I personally couldn’t see any reason why Callie wanted either, let alone both of them, at the same time. Her inability to choose between Sean and Thorpe – apparently the only choice she was allowed in the entire story – read as both childish and annoying.Though I had these personal issues with the story, I’m glad that I was able to step outside of my comfort zone and not let some misguided sense of embarrassment deter me from trying a new genre. Overall, I think someone who regularly enjoys both ménage and somewhat hardcore BDSM stories will find Theirs to Cherish an entertaining read, but anyone who’s new to either genre might want to begin with another book.Notable Scene:She had to find the only sensitive man in a BDSM dungeon. She would have been better off with someone who just wanted her to kneel, call him Sir, and liked to dish out a good paddling nowand then. Perversely, that had never attracted her. Sean’s big heartdid, and she feared that she would break both his and hers beforethe end. Maybe this time will be different. Maybe the past will stay there.Four years is the longest you’ve stayed in one place. Maybe it’s time tostop running and finally live.Callie drew in a shaking breath. “I’ll try again. Really try. Tellme what you want, Sir.”“That’s a girl.” Sean eased her to her feet and led her back tothe padded table.A glance up proved Thorpe had gone. Probably for the best. Hewas far too controlled and sexual for her. If she ever truly put herselfin his hands, he’d pry her soul wide open in no time at all. Shecouldn’t take that risk.FTC Advisory: Berkley/Penguin provided me with a copy of Theirs to Cherish. No goody bags, sponsorships, “material connections,” or bribes were exchanged for my review.

In Theirs to Cherish, Callie Ward is torn between her loyally to Mitchell Thorpe and her emerging feelings for Sean Kirkpatrick. Club Dominion is the perfect place for Callie Ward to hide her true identity; it has been her safe place for the past four years. This author did an incredible job of making Callie’s struggle realistic. Callie’s loyally toward Master Thorpe runs deep – he is her protector. Thorpe has only ever denied her one thing, his collar.“He’d given her a job, a home, a circle of friends, a lifestyle she craved. He was the first man she’d truly loved. He’d always have a chunk of her heart.”Her involvement with Sean blossomed from her intent to aroused emotion in Thorpe. Finally a man fully intent on gaining her trust, he offered what Thorpe withheld. It was not until Thorpe allowed Sean to collar her that she felt true trepidation – dread of releasing the secrets she carries.“…he pushed her boundaries with a gentleness she found both irresistible and insidious”Shayla Black created another fantastic addition to the Wicked Lovers series. The most impressive part of this story is the bond that grows between Thorpe and Sean – while not a romantic, it is a built on love.
