About this audiobook
FBI agent Harmony Black and her team, Vigilant Lock, face a new type of threat: one from beyond the stars.
They’d always heard the Red Knight was an urban legend: in 1954, three years before Sputnik launched, a mysterious satellite was sighted circling Earth, though no power on the planet had such technology.
But the Red Knight is real, and what’s more, it’s inextricably linked to a supernatural force no one yet understands. Like a moth to a flame, this dark presence collides annually with the airborne satellite. Except this year the Red Knight is on course to crash-land…in Oregon.
Vigilant Lock sets out to find the crash site and secure the remnants before the mysterious power is drawn to Earth. But they soon discover the mission is far from straightforward—and they aren’t the only ones tracking the Red Knight. To stop a deadly occult threat, Harmony and her team must use all their resources: technology and sorcery, science and magic. Fortunately, Harmony has only begun to discover her growing power.
Craig Schaefer
Craig Schaefer’s books have taken readers to the seamy edge of a criminal underworld drenched in shadow through the Daniel Faust series; to a world torn by war, poison, and witchcraft by way of the Revanche Cycle series; and across a modern America mired in occult mysteries and a conspiracy of lies in the Harmony Black series. Despite this, people say he’s strangely normal. He lives in Illinois with a small retinue of cats, all of whom try to interrupt his writing schedule and/or kill him on a regular basis. He practices sleight of hand in his spare time, although he’s not very good at it.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5An excellent supernatural monster hunting mystery . Some really good characters and moved the story on nicely.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Action packed with good character development. Solid plot and story build. Fast paced story
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Another excellent piece of Schaefer’s work… Love this world! Be sure to read a few of the Daniel Faust series and the first Harmony Black before you jump in.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Yeah it is not perfect but I like Harmony Black and her Vigilant Lock team. Harmony and her team fight demons and the occult. The book doesn't get into all kind of lore and world building which I like. Sometimes world building is nice but in this series you don't have to learn a new world if you already understand demons and witches. They are regular Federal Agents fighting crime in an otherworldly world. They have badges, guns, rules, and a few super powers. Red Knight is a satellite that holds an unknown secret, the problem is the satellite is coming down and Harmony and her team have to find where it lands and retrieve its payload before the bad guys get it.
There was a lot of repetitious dialogue and towards the end I had to skip to the action scenes.
I don't like fantasy series but this one is good. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I'm really enjoying this series. I find the plots to be something new and interesting, this one especially. I've already started on the third book!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Red Knight Falling by Craig Schaefer and narrated by Christina Traister continues the series in this book 2. With an evil from beyond our planet, lots of mysteries to solve, more creatures like Jessie, a nosy reporter, and an object to return to space before the Earth is invaded by something unspeakable....just another job!Very exciting and crazy good! Lots of suspense and action! Love the narration too!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Another solid entry in the Harmony Black series. And of course, it ends on a cliffhanger, prepping the way for the next book in this story arc.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I love Harmony Black's character. She's a total badass, yet still retains her femininity. She's complex and interesting, feeling very much like a real person. With or without her magic, she is quite capable of taking care of herself.I also love the concept for this series, with magic and the supernatural aspects woven into reality in a way that we can believe. Harmony and her team use their abilities in moderation, relying more on their investigative skills when working cases. We go along with her to solve the mystery, which is wrapped up with the supernatural. This team handles the things that would cause mayhem if details got out to the general population. As far as the character appeal, Red Knight Falling absolutely lives up to the promise set by Harmony Black, the first book in this series. The characters pop right off the pages, as if they are real people. Even the minor characters have distinct personalities. The plot for this one didn't excite me as much as the first book, though that's not something I can pin on the author. I'm not a big fan of doomsday/apocalyptic fiction, which is largely the direction in which this story takes us. In general, the pacing was good and the story held my interest. I just wish there'd been a little less of "the sky is falling" scramble, and a little more attention to the particular supernatural entity they all feared. My quibbles are specific to me and my taste, so don't let my little bit of grumbling stop you from reading this one. I fully intend to read the next book in this series, so clearly I am hooked.*While this book reads fine as a stand-alone, I do think it's better to start with Harmony Black, which is book 1, in order to get a better sense of the characters and their relationships.*
