About this audiobook

Lea Lamb and Austin Wolf were young when they fell in love. They never imagined the future could hold anything other than together-forever.

When Lea's father dies in a tragic fishing accident, she's crushed under the weight of her grief and catches a glimpse of another type of future, one she knows she's not strong enough to face.

Austin is angry. For the past fifteen years, he's believed the woman he loved with every ounce of his soul left him without so much as a backwards glance.

When Lea unexpectedly returns to their hometown, all the years of heartache inside Austin bubbles to the surface and presents itself as blinding rage.

Faced with the truth about the past, a newly discovered secret, these former lovers will learn that if they want to have any chance at the future they'd given up on all those years ago, they will have to rescue one another from drowning in pain so debilitating it will leave them both fighting to breathe.

Overall, a pretty good second chance romance! There were a couple plot points that had me wondering a bit, but the characters were so interesting in the here and now, those didn’t detract from the journey they were on in this moment and time. The pain they had been in over the years finally had a chance to heal, as they worked through all that was keeping them apart

Austin and Lea have a second chance at what they used to have after Lea left Austin due to her father's passing. Their story focuses on loss a lot as Lea loses both parents, which defines her as a person. It was a shame that loss was such a big part of the story because it took away from the carefree romance they could have had. The plot was slightly underdeveloped and moments during the grief process that should have been more in-depth to be more impactful were fade to black or brushed over.

I wasn't particularly keen on the nicknames Wolf and Lamb which were the character's last names. It did become very cringe. This book is slightly different to Aurora's other reads as there is no drama and high stake action and Austin is a more subtle alpha when it comes to Lea. He definitely has those tendencies though. Some of the character's actions were rapid reactions to scenarios and then suddenly there would be a 360 in their feelings, with minimal explanation and build-up.

Very emotional second chance story of true love fining its way
