About this audiobook

Kit Devigny could have loved rock guitarist Noah St. John. Their friendship burned with the promise of intense passion and searing tenderness until the night Noah deliberately shattered her heart.

Noah knows that he destroyed something precious the night he chose to betray Kit, but he'd rather she hate him than learn his darkest secret. All he has left is his music. It's his saving grace, but it doesn't silence the voices that keep him up at night.

When a media error sees Noah and Kit dubbed the new "it" couple, Kit discovers that her chance at the role of a lifetime hinges on riding the media wave. Wanting-needing-to give Kit this, Noah agrees to play the adoring boyfriend. Only the illusion is suddenly too real, too painful, too beautiful . . . and it may be too late for the redemption of Noah St. John.

Summary Kit Devigny, has been half in love with Noah St. John. They had a solid friendship that could have been a whole lot more but Kit stumbled upon Noah betrayed her and it changed everything. One night she gets a frantic call from Noah, and she can't help but be worried sick when she thinks he has gone off the deep end. All Noah wants is Kit, but he knows he can never have her because he wouldn't ever taint her with his horrible past or what haunts his soul day and night. But he craves her friendship, he needs to have some part of her in his life. “I don’t expect you to forgive me, but please don’t shut me out… I can’t breathe knowing you hate me.” When he does the worst, he knows he must repair some of the damage. Kit and Noah start to rebuild their friendship although it definitely has some rocky beginning in rekindling what they once had, but Noah's betrayal still haunts both of them. Kit can't help but continue to feel hurt, knowing she isn't good enough for sexy rock star Noah St. John. She would give anything for him to trust her. Can Noah open his full heart to Kit and find that happy ever after he never thought he would find?Plot and Story Line Rock Redemption is a story I was eager to read and/or listen to. I knew it would be an emotional roller coaster from friend reviews I had read previously, but boy I never imagined what Singh would put me through with this one. It definitely is heart wrenching in many ways but such a beautifully woven love story that I couldn't get enough of it. I just wanted more and more of Noah and Kit. And I will warn you, that reading this makes you want to re read the previous books (which I am totally down with.....re read of the Rock Kiss series anyone??)So what makes Rock Redemption such a win win read? Well let me tell you. Nalini Singh continues to impress me with her talent of writing with any kind of genre...she is a rock star and its evident in Rock Redemption. We have a friendship to lovers trope. It starts off with a heart breaking scene that sets the stage for the story. The heroine really struggles with what Noah has done. She put her whole heart into their relationship and Noah hurts her more than he probably even realizes. We also see how much the other band members love Kit as well. After Noah and Kit come to certain terms, they start to spend time together as just "friends". But then the worst happens, and Kit's career as a actress is going to go down the drain if they don't "ACT" like a doting romantic couple for the tabloids for at least a month. At first Kit, is willing to let her career go because she won't force anything on Noah. He hasn't had an easy life, and even though she doesn't know what his secret is, she knows its bad and she refuses to put him in a bad spot. Kit didn't know how to deal with this--Noah's pain wasn't something that could be fixed with kisses and hugs and love. This was a down to the soul wound, one that was still bleeding. But she knew one thing, and that was that she loved Noah. This is where I really admired the heroine. She puts the welfare of the man she loves above her own. But Noah loves Kit too, and refuses to let her take the fall for his mistake. This is the turning point in their relationship, where Noah realizes he might be able to have something with Kit. We also see a tiny sub plot with another band member and I have a feeling he will be the next book. The romance is slow going, it gradually builds up (which it would have to be this way), but when they finally get together for sure....they explode. Its passionate and wild and highly emotional. This is a love story that is one you have to fight for from beginning to end. These two find themselves fighting for each other in different ways...but their relationship is full of drama, conflict but also a poignant love to capture any reader's heart.Narration I have enjoyed this narrator. I recently discovered her this year and fell in love. I enjoyed her voice and the way she portrays the different characters and the emotions of the story just come out through her voice in such a captivating way.The Cover I just love this cover!!! We have the rock band theme of course, but I love the guitar and he is sexy even with a shirt on!!!Overall View Rock Redemption is an emotionally provoking romance that is tough and gritty and bound to tear at emotions and slowly enchant you. A love story of tragedy, forgiveness and the healing power of love. A ROCKIN' GEM TO TAKE YOU TO THE STARS!!! “I can’t be what you need,” he whispered against the side of her head. “But be with me anyway.”

This couple has lots of issues to overcome in order to ever get together. Kit had her heart stomped by Noah after he felt life their friendship was getting too close for comfort. Noah is a known womanizer in the band. He never spends more than one night with a woman and never lets them stay the night. Kit hid her hurt from Noah and the rest of the band since they were all friends together before any of them hit the big time. When Kit goes to an event with Noah as a favor and the gossip rags decide there is something there it looks like it will really help Kit secure a new role in a blockbuster film. So now they have to fake a love relationship for the cameras while trying to see if they can actually work together. Secrets that Noah has kept from Kit do come out and true loves wins in the end.

Review courtesy of Dark Faerie TalesQuick & Dirty: Emotionally driven story about two characters with dark pasts that must be overcome and come up with a creative method in order to be lovers.Opening Sentence: Kit smiled when the elevator doors opened as soon as she pressed the button. The Review:It is no secret that I am a huge fan of Nalini Singh so when I got the opportunity to review Rock Redemption I was ecstatic. Nalini writes characters with such depth and emotion. Rock Redemption is certainly no exception to the drama and emotion, although I did have some issues with the subject matter. This novel deals with some really dark issues and a character who doesn’t want to work through them. He’d rather hurt others than fix himself. Noah is the epitome of the man so deeply hurt and broken that the girl (aka Kit) thinks she can fix. If this hadn’t been a Nalini Singh book I would have had no hope for Noah or Kit.Rock Redemption opens up with Kit walking in on Noah and another woman, just when Kit thought that she and Noah were going to take the next step in their relationship. Deep hurt and resentment follow for the next couple years while Kit establishes herself as the next “it” Hollywood actress and Noah keeps on touring with his band and banging the groupies. Noah is not in a good place, he goes over the deep end and gets terribly drunk and almost does drugs, but he can’t do it because he knows what Kit’s thoughts are on drug users. In his sad state, Noah reaches out to Kit. And Kit can’t let Noah destroy himself completely, she has to come to his rescue no matter how badly he hurt her.Noah is constantly sending mixed signals to Kit. He keeps telling how deeply he cares for her but only as a friend. He can’t have a relationship with her. Sex is for one thing and he can’t touch Kit in that way no matter how badly he wants too. Kit spends most of the novel upset, frustrated and in tears over the way that Noah treats her.All the while that Kit and Noah are exploring their futures with each other. Kit is dealing with a stalker, whom has been getting more creepy and demented with their “presents”. This allows Noah to stay with Kit to help protect her from her stalker but it also allows Kit to keep an eye on Noah to make sure he doesn’t spiral back into a deep depression again. The dark subject matter isn’t making this sound like a very good book but I don’t want to go into too much detail and give things away. The emotions as a reader range almost as much as the characters. I was frustrated for Kit and annoyed with Noah. Kit fights for Noah even when she is about to give up. Noah tries to change himself for Kit, if only just to keep her friendship.Kit has always fought for what she wanted in life even though she grew up privileged. She changed her name to get away from her family. She wanted to be her own person and not elevated because of who her parents are. She works hard for everything that she has. There were a few times that I really thought she just needed to give up on Noah because there was no way they were going to have a conventional relationship.I am not a huge fan of characters like Noah who can only see women as good enough for one thing. Noah realized this and didn’t want Kit to be another notch but he’d rather hurt her than talk about it. Noah was also quite selfish, he knew he couldn’t give Kit the love and relationship she needs but he couldn’t stand to see her happy with someone else either.Overall, this novel really is worth it in the end. As much as I was frustrated for the characters at times, Nalini is a master storyteller and I couldn’t put this story down. Kit comes up with a really unconventional way to get Noah to overcome some of his anger issues. I had to know how this couple was going to get their HEA. If you have a penchant for the darker contemporary stories, then I really recommend Rock Redemption to you.Notable Scene:She barely bit back the angry words. They’d been through that, and if she kept dwelling on it, it would only make her bitter and broken, and poison whatever relationship remained between them. “What are we doing, Noah?” she said quietly. “You know this won’t work.” They’d never been meant to be just friends: they could be either passionate lovers or sworn enemies. There was no middle ground.“It can work,” Noah said, as if he could will a simple, uncomplicated friendship into being. “But only if you give it a shot.” He stepped closer, close enough that she could feel the heat of his body. “Don’t throw in the towel on me, on us.” A pause that held like a dewdrop on a spider web, caught between sparkle and shatter. “I need you.”Her chest ached. She apparently still had a mile-wide weak spot when it came to Noah exposing his need. He showed it so rarely, asked for something even less. And she had promised to be his friend. She owed it to who they’d once been to give the attempt this one chance at least. “Let’s go watch the sunrise.”That sunrise was spectacular, coming over the San Gabriel Mountains and bathing the world in a deep gold kissed with pink, but it didn’t hold her attention, not with Noah beside her. He was competent and efficient at the controls, a haunting lightness to him.“You really love this,” she said, her voice soft with realization.“Up here, it doesn’t matter who you are, what your sins.” His gorgeous voice poured into her ears through the headphones, made her stomach flutter, her thighs clench. “It’s total freedom. No expectations. No judgements. Just endless sky.”Kit had never understood why Noah was so deeply unhappy.FTC Advisory: TKA Distribution provided me with a copy of Rock Redemption. Rock guitarist Noah St. John and actress Kit Devigny were friends with the potential for more until Noah purposely pushed Kit away. Now Noah has the opportunity to make amends to Kit by pretending to be her boyfriend to the media to aid their careers, in addition to helping protect Kit from a stalker.I loved Nalini Singh’s third book in the Rock Kiss Series, Rock Redemption! Once again, she wrote a phenomenal story that is awe-inspiring and meaningful.Singh’s characters are extremely well developed. Both Noah and Kit come from similar childhoods with financial well-off families. Neither sets of relations would be up for the parents of the year award. Noah has a scarred past that prevents him from forming a relationship, just using women for sex. My heart went out to Noah and everything he went through. Fox and Kit have been a great support system for him. He is a remarkable character. Kit is amazingly well balanced considering how flaky her parents are. She is thoughtful and a good friend. Both characters have a lot of depth and are likeable. Add in the rest of the band and their significant others and you have a great group of people that have become a family that would do anything for each other. The plot was exciting with many twists. The story flows well and is very believable. It is a story I did not want to end. I look forward to the next book in the series.Complimentary copy provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
