I've listened to this before and I love the author and love the narrator and her voice, the way she reads the series. I can't really pin who are my favorite characters, I like them all, in their own quirky ways. For Christian fiction, I still find humor in these?? I'll be listening to the other three... As I see, this 4 book series, whom I love already. I'll definitely recommend the series and the author.

Fast paced but not so fast I had to put it away to keep my heart from racing so fast. I loved the story. The stalking that escalates. How does he/she know when, where and what the victim is doing. I did guess the who, but it was great to see it all come together. Olivia and Wade were great together. I found the various incidents were heart pounding enough and the breathing room in between was necessary. I liked the way the story unfolded without giving away too much. The whole reveal of who the stalker was and the accomplice got revealed in parts and was very clever. The ending was suspenseful and the whole book was exciting. Great start to the a new series. Can’t wait to read the rest of them.I would like to thank Net Galley and Revell for allowing me to read and review this book in return for a free copy and I was never asked to write a favorable review by anyone. Olivia and Wade work very well together. It would not be good to have a stalker. Who could the stalker of Wade be? Olivia and her team of Elite Guardians are hired to watch over Wade and his daughter. There are many twists and turns before you see who the stalker is. I received this book from Revell for a fair and honest opinion.

The Elite Guardians, bodyguards led by Olivia Edwards, are always watching over their client, radio personality, Wade Savage. Unfortunately, Wade’s stalker is equally vigilant in watching his every move. As the stalker begins to expand his, or is it her, focus to include Wade’s young daughter, Amy, and one of his bodyguards is severely injured in an attack outside the radio station, Olivia is forced to call in back up from local law enforcement. Even with the extra resources, much of Olivia’s time is spent with Wade, and the growing attraction is undeniable. Will the attraction prove too much of a distraction, and will that lead to deadly consequences? After all, Wade has done something to make the stalker very angry. When reviews are posted on web sites, the reviewer is often asked to give a star rating of the book or product. When considering the number of stars I consider how well the item being reviewed met my expectations and how pleased I was with it. Well, if I were to give Always Watching a star rating, and I was comparing it to how other mysteries I’ve read over the last few years met my expectations and provided reading pleasure, I would give it four stars. However, if I were to compare it with the last two Lynette Eason books I’d read from her Hidden Identity series, I would probably give it three stars. As mysteries in general go, Always Watching is a great read, but for my reading pleasure it was less engaging than Nowhere to Turn and No One to Trust. I found the characters to be less endearing and the events less realistic. Am I saying that I wouldn’t recommend this book, absolutely not. It simply is not my favorite Lynette Eason book. Will I read the next book in this series, certainly; after all it’s a Lynette Eason book. I thank Revell Publishers and Christian Fiction Blog Alliance for providing Always Watching for my honest review. I did not receive any monetary compensation for a favorable review and the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

Title: Always Watching (Elite Guardians #1)Author: Lynette EasonPages: 329Year: 2016Publisher: RevellLynette Eason delivers again with this new series! I loved the idea of having a company of all women bodyguards; I thought the idea very original. This first book is focused on Olivia Edwards and her story.Olivia Edwards used to be a cop, but now she runs a company with her partners of all female bodyguards. This particular assignment originally has Maddy as the bodyguard for a local widowed psychiatrist, who also does a radio talk show at night. The psychiatrist, Wade Savage, has a stalker and that is why he has a bodyguard. The stalker quickly escalates her by taking Maddy out of the picture at the beginning of the story. So it is Olivia’s turn in the rotation of the security schedule to now be on duty to Wade and his daughter, Amy.The moves quickly along with the stalker becoming more and more bold with her actions. More and more people are being injured or killed. Olivia wonders how the stalker always seems to be a step ahead of her security. Olivia has called in her other partners in the company to provide 24/7 security, but still the stalker breaks through their defenses. In addition, Oliva and Wade have sparks flying when they come in contact and seem to be edging toward a romantic relationship. However, Wade is a Christian and while Olivia believes in God, she doesn’t like him very much. Olivia sees faith in action through Wade and his father and begins to draw closer to God. The stalker makes a bold attempt to get Wade to notice her and Olivia must face her greatest fear to save a life.I couldn’t put this book down as the action was nonstop and the tension full-tilt! I just loved the relationship between Wade and his daughter in the story. He was so patient and reassuring with her. Olivia and Wade are also willing to be vulnerable with each other by sharing their painful pasts with each other. This definitely made the character more realistic for me. I can hardly wait for book two in the series, Without Warning, to be released this summer. This is an exciting novel that you won’t want to miss!My rating is 5 stars.Disclosure of Material Connection: I received one or more of the products or services mentioned above for free in the hope that I would mention it on my blog. Always Watching is a heart stopper of a story, and action starts on the first page and doesn’t stop until the end. You won’t be able to put it down, and if you have to, you will be picking it right back up as fast as you can, it’s a I have to know what is happening type of story.Who would want to hurt a generous man with a young daughter, whom has lost her mother, and a woman she loved that was going to marry her dad? Wade Savage’s father has hired Olivia Edwards Elite Guardians to protect his son, he has a stalker, with people being attacked, and suspicious deaths, and you never know what is going to happen next.If you love suspense this is the book for you, it gives and give right to the end. You will make up your mind, and I was sure I knew whom was responsible, but guess what, I was very wrong, and very surprised to whom was the culprit. This is as fast pace as you can get, and still have an even flowing story, picking this one up might keep you up at night, but you will not be disappointed.I received this book through Revell Reads Blogger Program, and was not required to give a positive review.

I have to admit that the bodyguards didn't seem to do a great job--one ends up with her throat slit, and their client has several close calls (though some of those were because he didn't do what his bodyguards asked him to do). There were a few inconsistencies: at one point, Wade asks Olivia if he needs to cancel the charity event and it seems like he was willing to do so. Then, not too long after that, it sounds like he won't cancel it. That was the biggest one.I had a few people who could have been the female stalker--and one of my options was the woman. I didn't guess the accomplice until closer to the climax of the book.I am looking forward to reading the other two books in this series.

WOWEE! What a piece of fiction!

From page 1, to the very end, this had my attention. There were definitely a few late nights!

I was immediately intrigued by Olivia's character. Rather terse, very quiet, and clearly with a history, I kept reading if only to find out about her. Then, of course, Wade. Another multi-faceted character. I think that's what I liked so much about this book: each and every one of the characters had so many dimensions and so much depth.

I at first had a hard time getting into Eason's writing style, which is pretty stripped down. But it really worked for the type of story, and eventually it didn't bug me any more.

The plot was very well done; intense, fast-paced, without being too fast, and yet heartwarming. Details were revealed at just the right time, and Eason kept me guessing as to the identity of the stalker. The thread of romance was very sweet and subtle, which is just the way I like it. It did not feel forced or in-your-face at all. Kudos for that!

The ending was surprising, and there were a lot of nail-biting twists and turns leading up to it. While this is a series, it ended as if it was a standalone book, without any cliffhangers.

All in all, I very much enjoyed this suspense novel! I appreciated how it was very clean - yes, there was definitely some things I would not recommend for a younger audience, but there was no over-the-top graphic description of violence or gore, nothing sexual, etc. I would recommend this for ages 15 .

Olivia Edwards, ex-cop and struggling Christian, is a partner in an experimental protection agency. Wade Savage is (if you can believe it with that last name) a radio talk show how/psychiatrist and devout Christian. When a stalker presents in his life, he finds himself with a bodyguard and more protection than he thinks he can handle. He's the independent type, etc. At the end of the book, I was startled to find out who was behind all of the bad things happening to Wade and his family. The motive was the kicker. I didn't really buy the way that some things were handled, but it didn't stop me from enjoying he story.

I needed a fast-paced book to keep me trekking on these hot summer mornings. With the humidity and the high temps, I am often reluctant to get my morning walk in. But Always Watching by Lynette Eason kept me motivated, mainly because I could not get enough of the suspense and romance in this book! Book 1 of The Elite Guardians series is a great way to make the hours and the miles go by fast! With danger starting on page one, Always Watching provided my suspense fix. Bombs, shootings, and stalkers make this novel a page-turner. There is chemistry aplenty between main characters Wade and Olivia, although they try their best to keep their relationship professional. Hard to do, but necessary when the threats seem to come out of nowhere. I like Eason’s flowing writing style, the good balance of action and characterization, and the touch of romance that is not too much, not too little, but just right. For fans of romantic suspense, Always Watching is a great choice. Characters vary in their faith journeys, but the message is clear — God doesn’t leave us alone or without help. The narrator of the audiobook had a good sense of voice and timing, making this one easy to listen to.For morning commutes or workouts or that weekend getaway, Always Watching is a good choiceRecommended.Audience: adults.

A different twist on bodyguards as a an elite agency of women guardians takes on the task of guarding Wade Savage. Wade has a stalker and they are not giving up. It takes the entire team to keep him safe including some new hires after the stalker does not give up going after the body guards and police alike. Wade becomes concerned when it becomes obvious that the stalker knows personal things about him and his daughter beyond what should be known. After stalker steps it up and becomes move violent, the agency owner Olivia Edwards realizes she must do all she can to protect her client even if it involves her greatest fear. This was a twist on the usual protection agencies that normally are all male or a mix and I liked how it work. I received a copy of this book free to review from the publisher.

★★★☆☆ - 3 stars out of 5A female-only elite body guard agency is assigned to a high profile radio talk show personality and psychiatrist after it becomes apparent that he has a stalker willing to do anything to get his attention. Wade struggles to sit by while this stalker takes control of his life, terrifying his anxiety ridden daughter, and making him question his every move. With that combo you have a thrill of a read full of intrigue around every corner, a dash of romance, and a struggle to find God in it all. “You have to get to know God on a very intimate level in order to have the kind of faith that will withstand the storms life throws at you. It’s a good thing that we only have to have the amount of a mustard seed. Sometimes that’s about all I can find. You won’t find even that much, though, if you treat him as the enemy or simply a passing acquaintance.”I'm always in the mood for another thrilling read so when I had the chance to pick up this one, I couldn't wait to get started. The author does a fantastic job at pulling the reader in, leaving you questioning who this stalker (or stalkers?) is till the very end. While it seems that there would be an emphasis on the stereotype breaking body guard, I was pleasantly surprised that there wasn't. That is, it wasn't all about how a woman shouldn't be in that line of work because she's weak, just that it was a different experience. Just when you think the stalker has taken it as far as it will go and they can't possibly take it any more extreme, you jump in hopes of saving the characters. However, with all that said, I didn't rate it higher than a 3 star because there were significant points that dragged the rating down. This book is published by a Christian-based publishing group and while I didn't expect or require that the book be apparent in this way, the way that it was used seemed out of place and forced. As if the author went back once the story was finished and added in enough "God talk" to satisfy some standard. A second point which brought my rating down was that there was an emphasis on the male lead character being a psychiatrist and the female lead taking her role as body guard seriously but their interactions seemed so unprofessional, sacrificing it for the romantic intrigue in the story. With a base line rating, I wouldn't necessarily recommend this book but I wouldn't recommend against it either. It was overall an enjoyable and quick read but not one that I'll be keeping on my shelf. This book is most likely best fit for a the casual Christian reader. Please note: I received this book for free from Revell Reads, a branch of Baker Publishing Group, in return for my honest review.
