About this audiobook

Money or love? Which would you choose? You probably just answered the question in your head, thinking it's an easy decision. For me, it's not. Did I mention it's a lot of money? A hell of a lot.

I needed to go far away to think it through. As I embarked on an impulsive trip, I hit a detour when I met sexy Carter in the airport lounge. We struck up a heated conversation. Then, he left. I thought I'd never see him again. But fate had other plans.

Surprise! He was the pilot of my flight. The bigger surprise was the adventure that followed after the plane landed. Carter was dangerous and always on the move. Even though our connection was magnetic, I knew it was only temporary. He would give me tickets, and I would follow him around the world to exotic places. A bevvy of flight attendant exes and rumors about Carter's reputation were never far behind. I didn't know what to believe. But I was addicted. Nothing else mattered anymore. And I was going to get hurt. Because a part of me wanted to be the one to finally ground the playboy pilot.

Contains mature themes.

Although the narration was awesome and the writing was pretty good, the plot was seen thousand times before: promiscuous man meets young, naive woman, followed by lots of silly melodrama and happy ending. Boooring!
Carter treats his women like tissues - use once and discard. While Carter is kind and affectionate toward his elderly neighbors, he does not like or respect the women stupid enough to f**k him. When he meets Kendall, he is instantly smitten for no logical reason. Kendall was raised in a wealthy family, given every imaginable advantage but has done absolutely nothing productive with her life. Why can't female authors create interesting, producitve woman characters?

With two hours left to finish, the anxiety hit. BOOM! (Without giving anything away) these two authors have a way with words. Definitely a favorite from them.
Hell, they even made me cry in this one.

I really like this story. It was easy to fall into. The characters were well written. I'm not sure if anyone will catch the part with the Aussie guy in the Airport with the goat. It has to be a reference back to Dirty Letters. Just a neat little tidbit I noticed.

Sweet story. I lie how the writer dives into the characters insecurities, and we as readers get to follow along in their personal growth.
There’s always a massive obstacle that derails the lovers journey, and it’s interesting to see how the writer plots out their eventual happy ending.

I really enjoyed it. I'm glad she got her happily ever after. Her mum was a selfish woman.

Heard this yrs ago on Scribd and enjoyed it just as much as i did then.
The angst in this one is hard to take. It is a wonderful rom com narrated by 2 voice actors who have won awards for their talent narrating audiobooks. It is easy to understand why they deserved those awards

Now boarding….this was another one of those mood-struck-me reads, and I had no idea what I was getting into! This book begins very fun and flirty, but in true @vi_keeland and @penelopewardauthor fashion, the deeper into the story, the deeper and more complex the characters. This was a delicious slow burn, but also a beautiful story of two people learning as much about themselves as each other. Bonus: seeing Rio (and Miami) through their adventures together.

Another sweet story from the authors. Loved how the pilot fell so hard for Kendall and how they found their way back to each other despite the odds. It was great to see his good work rewarded at the end as well. Loved it

Being brazilian and from Rio it is a bit frustrating how the author describes their experience there.
Monkeys jumping on somebody’s shoulder is really not an usual thing. Never seen it happen.
I would even like to point out that monkeys aren’t pets and, if I’m not mistaken, it is a federal crime to domesticate monkeys in Brazil.
All in all it is a nice romantic story.

As much as I didn't think I was going to like this book based on the description, I loved it. I don't think there is a book of Vi's that I have listened to yet that I don't love!

The jet-set whirlwind romance in the beginning just led me to a washed out worn traveler feeling later in the book. The romance starts fun, sweet, and intense, and yes, even a bit funny. I felt like the set up was kind of novel and interesting. A good fantasy!

Then it falls flat. I don't think I've ever read a book about a character's breasts before. But in the second half, I really felt like they were given top billing.

The other reason the book started to go downhill for me was the conflict was pretty freaking stupid. I mean Baby Mama drama so predictable, resolution so predictable.

If the book would've wrapped around the 65% mark, it would've just seemed like an intense whirlwind of a romance. It tried to do too much. I no longer could understand the investment the MCs had in each other. And if they had that level of investment, they would've at least owed it to each other to see it through...

Sometimes I want to give it all up and be an editor.
    a) take out all the boob references. Some are ok, 1,000 are too many (I'd give this exact feedback. Constructive, right?)
    b) Wrap up the book with a different conflict or draw out the indecision. The layer of complication detracted from the love story and its "don't think just go with it" loveliness.

The authors make a decent duo, however, and I will not give up.

2.5 ** Posible spoilersNot my favorite by Keeland. The MC's just never won my heart. I liked the male Carter better than the female Kendall but either of them were likable for me. I also didn't like the side characters except for some senior citizens that had a minuscule part, and an B&B keeper. He was a sleep around guy in the extreme who suddenly changed his ways completely. Ah no. She was this super rich debutante who was willing to go poor so easily ? No. She was also so in love, puppy dog goggly eyes type of love and she just disappeared ? This after being so brutally honest before. No. Then after separating for such a long period on time it's on hot and hotter, except now he sort of disappears ? ARGUH ! Wishy Washy lust/love. No thanks
