About this audiobook
The Sisterhood: a group of women from all walks of life bound by friendship and a quest for justice. Armed with vast resources, top-notch expertise, and a loyal network of allies around the globe, the Sisterhood will not rest until every wrong is made right.
The women of the Sisterhood are united by their mission to help those unable to help themselves. But now they’ve encountered opponents who share a unique bond of their own. The law firm of Queen, King, Bishop & Rook—the Chessmen—has been a formidable force in Washington, D.C., for decades. And Sisterhood member Nikki Quinn’s new case has made her their prime target.
Nikki has agreed to represent Livinia Lambert as she files for divorce from her domineering, greedy husband, Wilson “Buzz” Lambert. Buzz, currently Speaker of the House, fears the scandal will scupper his presidential plans, and intends to make life extremely difficult for Livinia—with the Chessmen’s help. The Chessmen may play dirty, but the Sisterhood play smart. For too long, the Chessmen have believed themselves above the law they pretend to serve, but there’s no statute of limitations on the Sisterhood’s particular brand of justice—or their loyalty….

Fern Michaels
New York Times bestselling author Fern Michaels has a passion for romance, often with a dash of suspense and drama. It stems from her other joys in life—her family, animals, and historic home. She is usually found in South Carolina, where she is either tapping out stories on her computer, rescuing or supporting animal organizations, or dabbling in some kind of historical restoration.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I have read all of the Sisterhood novels, so I knew what I was getting when I received this one from NetGalley to read and review. If you have read the others, all I can say is that this is more of the same. However, the plot of this one was not as complex or detailed as some of the plots in the other books. In this one, four men, who are known as the “best” lawyers around town, and their client, the current Speaker of the House, gang up to preempt Nikki, her law firm and her “sister” vigilantes, from scoring a win in the divorce proceedings of the Speaker. Everyone knows, up front, the four lawyers play dirty whenever they work a case and the Speaker is just another member of their “gang” this time, so, Nikki and her cohorts prepare to stop them from this before the lawyers know what is happening. Of course, there are themes, ideas, actions, etc. that defy reality/credibility, but, if you have read any of the other books in the series, you are prepared to accept this as part of the Sisterhood lore. The book is well written and reads easily and quickly. The characters come across as true to form, based on other books. I am not sure whether this is a good stand-alone book, as there is not a lot of back-story about the characters or who they are/represent and how they interact, so a new-to-the-series reader might have difficulty understanding or appreciating the characters and their interactions throughout the story. As I said, the plot of this one is rather thin. It felt as if the author was rushing through the story to get to the finale. Again, finding a dog who can do what Nikki’s and Jack’s dog can is not easily believed. It would take a lot of time and training, and, based on their lives as described in the books, I am not sure Jack really has that much time to spare. However, stretching credibility/reality is part of the series story line--and probably attraction. This is a book fans of the series will enjoy. It also might attract others to the series, if the new-to-the-series reader can stick with it.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Having read all of the Sisterhood books to date, I did not feel this was as good or as captivating as many of the others. It gets long and draggy in places. It just seemed harder to stay with this one.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Love the sisterhood books. Hope there are more books.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5My favorite part of the book is the fact that the good guys win and payback for those who were hurt. Most of these books are always pretty predictable but still fun to listen to.
