Another great Sean Drummond story! Haig's stories never drag. There are very interesting characters, and lots of intrigue and humor.

The author is probably unaware that the originail term "Kingmaker" referred to the Earl of Warwick, when he placed Edward IV on the throne of England.

Maj. Sean Drummond remains a very interesting character. While I enjoyed The Kingmaker, it wasn't quite as good as Mortal Allies, but that would be quite a lot to live up to. My biggest complaint with The Kingmaker revolves around the ending which, frankly, I didn't like. Oh, well. Still a very good story.

A perfectly serviceable thriller about a man who pulls strings in Russia (and the former Soviet republics) as well as the United States. Told from the perspective of a self-deprecating JAG officer attempting to defend his client from a charge of treason, this was a quick read.
