- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I would have rather heard it in R.C.'s voice, I love the way he spoke. His insights sound good in any voice!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Very precise book for biblical truths. So simple to understand too! I will definitely buy the book version of this
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Very good introduction to the essential Christian Doctrines. Also serves as a "quick reference" when questions come up -- each topic is only about 2 pages long, so this book also makes a very nice daily study -- at one chapter a day, you can read through the book four times in a year.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great quick resource. I have use it as the basic of youth Bible studies, adult Sunday School lessons, personal reference/research, devotional reading, etc. I have also given away more than I can recall.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The back cover of the book claims that the book offers"theologically sound explanations of the biblical concepts every Christian should know, written in a way that we can all understand." To accomplish all this, Sproul divided the book into ten categories of theology, including revelation, the nature and attributes of God, the works and decrees of God, Jesus Christ, human beings and the fall, salvation, the church and sacraments, spirituality and the living in this age, and end times. He uses these comprehensible terms instead of the academic terms, such as soteriology, anthropology, and ecclesiology. Each category is divided into a number of sections, each a manageable couple or so pages long. Sproul includes several references that relate to each section as well as a summary. In the back of the book is a very helpful bibliography of suggested readings for more thorough discussion of each category. This book is helpful in grasping important ideas of the Bible.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Good brief introduction to Christian doctrine from a Reformed perspective.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is an excellent book for new Christians as well as mature ones. RC has a unique way of making things plain and easy to comprehend. Although I do not agree with all of the doctrines mentioned here, they are all explained in a just way.
