About this audiobook

It's just over a week until Sam will be Binding with Jared, and the only thing she wants is to spend that time relaxing and preparing for the ceremony. Unfortunately, she seems to be asking too much of fate, because suddenly she's lumbered with a number of distractions that have the potential to postpone, or even cancel, the Binding. There's a guarded fiance to crack, a complicated assignment to deal with, Jared's ex to alienate, and a bunch of snobbish Master Vampires to win over-or offend, whichever. On the upside, things couldn't possibly be any worse, could they? Actually, yes they could. Due to a cruel twist of fate, something strange is happening to Sam-something that is changing her in ways she doesn't like or understand. With the help of Jared and those closest to her, she has to not only handle the threats to the Binding Ceremony, but find a way to fix what has been done to her-and fast.

I am enjoying this series, and this book was much better than the first.
It’s worth more than 3 stars but not quite 4, so I happily give it 3.5 stars.
The story was great, the characters are evolving nicely, and it’s a good read.
I am also used to the changing male and female narrators, which irked me in the first book. I’m
Not sure if it’s because the male voice has gotten so much better, or if I am just more tolerant to it now.

It's really a testament to her writing skills and intrigue that even though she has seriously twisted the vampire legend into something VERY unbelievable, it's believable!! Her imagination is very good! I liked how one person wasn't the end all be all, that other characters had input and talents and USE. I'm so sick of authors that have some main character being the ONLY ONE who can think and act, and the whole world rely on them!

Wright wrote solid characters, believable imaginings, and interesting subplots. I really liked her story! I'm a puritan when it comes to the vampire myth, you don't tweak it!! They don't glitter! But, for some reason, even though she totally tweaked it, I liked it! It was really fresh and interesting. And I think what helped make it buy-able is that she didn't explain how humans and vamps live together (which so often leaves me rolling my eyes), she didn't really merge the two worlds (which usually takes forever, and never seems to really work). And by doing that, she made it more seamless, more likely that it could happen.

AND!!! She didn't spare on revenge and justice!!! NICE!! No letting the slime get away with things, or smacking of hands. Nope, badguys got f**cked up! SWEET!

Anyway, I liked this series a lot. It was basically just an erotic romance, but there really was some interesting depth and an entertaining story line.
