About this audiobook

The crew of a WWII destroyer face their greatest challenge yet as they try to survive in a strange new world in the next thrilling book in the New York Times bestselling series.

Commander Matt Reddy and his crew are afraid it may finally be the end of the USS Walker. Ever since their ship was transported to another world, and they became embroiled in a deadly conflict between the Lemurians and the vicious Grik, the Walker has been taking a pounding. With Walker out of commission for repairs, Reddy takes command of a different ship and joins a desperate battle to block the Grik swarm.

Meanwhile, the humans and their allies face a deadly second front in the Republic to the south. All of Reddy's forces are committed, and there's no turning back. Either they'll win-or lose-everything . . .

Enjoyed the book but I feel the series is getting too disjointed because of all the various locales that need to be mentioned now.

Lots of moving parts in this excellent series that transitions from and parallels WW2. Enemies are many, strange and horrifically evil. Anderson hopscotches around his world but the bulk of the action is The Allies recovering from previous battles and gearing up to stop The Final Swarm as the Grik seeks to recovers their lost territory and overwhelm the Prey. The action never stops and rarely slow; a difficult book to put down. Anderson gets it right technically and sustains interest. He should consider the Flint 1632 Series model and finds some additional authors to support his expanding world or write faster.

After narrowly defeating the Japanese and killing Kurakawa; Reddy and his allies are tasked with preventing the final swarm from getting down the river and into the ocean where it would never be able to be stopped. A good tale.
