About this audiobook

"Rat Under Glass" is a short story that straddles the dark crime and extreme horror genres. It is primarily about Neo, a rat catcher who crosses the mob after his partner is killed by The Lobotomizer. Neo bungles the mob's bid for another sanitation contract by electrifying the runoff grids of New York. Lots of people fry, and the mob sees fit to dispense extreme punishment. Most of the story is about how Neo deals with that punishment, making use of his perseverance, tenacity, and off-the-wall thinking. The punishment involves a camcorder in a cave, recording Neo getting eaten alive by rats in a plexiglass cage. Oh, and he's stuck in there with the guy who killed his partner.

Nate Slade

Nate Slade is a Twin Cities author, philosopher by education, and all around bad guy. He writes extreme tales. They feature wicked crimes, psychological insights, and philosophical queries. Growing up in a rough place, East STP, he witnessed gang fights, stabbings, drug distributions, and other crimes. However, he also resided in one of Vancouver, BC's richest neighborhoods, West Point Grey, while he earned a graduate degree between the philosophy and cognitive science departments at UBC. Apart from having plenty of urban experience across socioeconomic levels (between street- and book- smart people), he spent plenty of time hunting and fishing 200 acres of prime north wood real estate, his grandfather’s, which surrounds a private access lake.
