      This goes straight to the top of my personal audiobook favourites. It's funny, insightful, clever and different. I'm listening to the whole series back to back and will be tempted to listen all over again.

      This is the third book in the Murderbot Series. It is a true series that needs to be read in order. The SEC Unit finds itself on another mission. This time, it is seeking evidence of a crimes committed by the megacorporation, GrayCris. It befriends a bot named Miki. It again interacts with a team of humans. My primary interest in this series is the development of the SEC Unit into an artificial intelligence. In this installment, it experiences a loss. I did not think this episode advanced the storyline significantly, but it was enjoyable. Kevin R. Free does a marvelous job in narrating the audio books. Personally, I would prefer one longer book, but I am probably in the minority. I am looking forward to seeing what happens in the next installment.

      This was a fantastic addition to the Murderbot series, and it is absolutely worth reading for anyone who already enjoys the series. Murderbot's growing curiosity and empathy as they learn about other AI's is interesting and endearing, and it adds another layer of complexity - and humanity - to the already deeply loved character.

      If you've read the first two, then you should definitely read the third. It's a must-read, and I am on to the fourth, looking forward to re-reading the series.

      Murderbot, more or less unwittingly, finds himself acting as a SecUnit for another team at risk from their dealings with the GrayCris corporation. Fast paced action like the first book, and looks to be propelling Murderbot back to Dr. Mensah. On to #4!

      Murderbot, the self-aware security droid picks its next mission in this third book of the series, back to the planet where these short stories began, to find out more about the terraforming project that was abruptly abandoned, and if had anything to do with what happened the first time it was there.

      Once again, Murderbot is around humans, and even though they have different names, they are just a copy of the first humans the series started with.

      But I am really enjoying these short stories. Murderbot's descriptions of human interactions are pretty funny. But I still believe that so much more could've been done with descriptions and the characters that would bring so much more life to this series, and earn it one more star.

      MurderBot is more grumpy in this installment and yet it learns more about its limitations regarding human interaction. In Rogue Protocol, MurderBot finds itself on a terra-forming facility looking for more information on the malevolent corporation GrayCris. It stowaways, as usual on a transport system and obviously things go pear shaped.

      It is a bit formulaic by now but what saves this tale is the snarky nature of MurderBot and the lessons it learns about human interaction. Personally it was interesting to see the dual nature that robots are viewed by humans. It reminded me of how women are treated as either conforming to set gender roles or rebellious as the seductive femme fatale. But women are more nuanced than that. And by the end MurderBot has to contemplate how it can best to navigate with humans and other bots.

      Oof, that ending. As always, Murderbot is a joy of antisocial, snarky commentary. This is Sci-Fi that's just pure fun, and I think we could all do with a little more of that.

      Again, how can I even describe how much I love Murderbot. I love that it can’t help but care about humans. I love Mickey in this one and that it just wants to be friends with Murderbot. I adore this series so much!

      I made it a point of order to get through novella #3 and #4 in preparation for novel release day. While I liked this story, I saw it as more of a throw back to novel one, itself. Where we have some people, and he needs to save the day, and they begin to feel about him, and he slips away into the night. It was a little wash and repeat, but I love his narration, choices, and continued burgeon growth that it was easy for my to overlook it at the time.

      Everyone should read this who loves SciFi and any kind of artificial intelligence. The whole of it is entertaining, and I find myself laughing out loud so many times.
