      The author gives a thorough overview of Marilyn Monroes life, but I felt that the book was also marked by the sexist undertones that plagued the legacy of Marilyn. Comments about how her sexual expression was a regression from her ability to be a serious actress and about her breasts looking flat in photos, considering Marilyn is dead this book still puts her through the microscope of a critical patriarchal society with high expectations of what it means to be a woman.
