About this audiobook
Every millennium, whoever holds the Scroll of a Thousand Prayers has the power to call the great Kami Dragon from the sea and ask for one wish. The time is near...and the missing pieces of the scroll will be sought throughout the land of Iwagoto.
When demons kill half-kitsune Yumeko’s adoptive family, she’s forced to flee her home with one part of the ancient scroll. Fate thrusts her into the path of mysterious samurai Kage Tatsumi, who is Yumeko’s best hope for survival. But he’s under orders to retrieve the scroll. An uneasy alliance forms, and Yumeko begins the deception of a lifetime, knowing her secrets are more than a matter of life or death—they’re the key to the fate of the world.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I don’t like the beginning because there were too many narrators but aside from that, everything was good. This reminds me of Inuyasha, one of my favorite animes.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Amazing story and amazing audio book!!! Couldn’t put it down.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5after start new book several times and I think I might get in a slump. so I went to this with open minded.
the pacing are rather slow. i mean the one-third of the book is a summary explained and it was too long and too unnecessary things are going on. but surprisingly when the plot starts to really going i was hooked. but the pacing still slow though.
the romance in this book, ahhhh i love it. IT’S LAME, BUT IT’S SOMETHING and i eat up the whole thing!!! the grumpy one is soft for the sunshine one was gets me every single time!
Overall if it wasn't Japanese culture that I was interesting I might get bored. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I wish they stuck with Emily Woo Zeller as the sole narrator. The other female narrator was so monotonous and nasal that I couldn't absorb what she was saying.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great book! It’s like listening to a good anime with no animation :) I’m excited to listen to the next book!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I loved this so much! I really appreciated the subtlety of the character development and loved the way everything had meaning and was connected to the story in someway
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I really enjoyed this, it was like listening to anime!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Super OP! If you love epic anime read this and enjoy the ride.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The story was good and so were the narrators, but the serving girl side story was kind of annoying besides providing what the villain was doing and the random Japanese words thrown in just to be there were a bit cringey. Not terminology, just things like “yes,” “um,” “ouch,” and “idiot” are randomly in Japanese.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Immersive world of yokais, samurais, shinobis, kitsune and many more. I love the rpg adventure vibe!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5wow I hadn't been entertained like this for while .. I loved it good story good audiobook highly recommend.. I am anuda-be in goodreads
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5This has been the worst book I have listened to in a long time. I was not a fan. If I didnt have the physical copy on my TBR list, I wouldn't have finished it.
