About this audiobook

HE SAID . . .

"Trust me-If there's one thing I'm not attracted to, it's the shrieking, overly-dramatic shrew that's taken over my sister's apartment. And what is up with her hair? I know what I want; an easy, uncomplicated lay-and Cecelia Carter sure as shit isn't one. But I never could resist a challenge, and vow to wipe that condescending grin off her pretty face. Aw, shit. Did I just call her pretty . . ?"-Matthew Wakefield

SHE SAID . . .

"Trust me-If there's one thing I'm not attracted to, it's an arrogant, selfish and foul-mouth hockey player. I know what I want; someone who's good for my body and soul and makes me laugh-and Matthew Wakefield isn't any of those things. I cannot stand the sight of him; I mean, what a jackass. If I refuse to give him anything but sass and sarcasm, it's only because he deserves it . . ."-Cecelia Carter

the author is funny, but I didn't like the slut shaming, and felt like the girls let these guys treat them like shit,.... they say sorry and all is forgiven?

Overall I liked it, its a good romance story. Not much to say there, it's a typical storyline, which I enjoy very much.

My criticism: I was kind of put off by the reoccurring slut shaming of "groupies" tho, especially cause the guys part in it was viewed as acceptable/normal (double standard much). Also, in some instances, when they argued they kind of just got back together after they talked about it. Which would be fine, but I didn't feel like they actually resolved the issue when they did.

Example of disagreement: (Btw spoiler alert! I kept it vague with no context of the actual issue, so I don't think it'll actually spoil it, but just in case, read at your own volition.) They disagreed on something and then made up after talking but they didn't say if they agreed now. Or one (1) of them I'll say 'assumed something' and the other character (2) was like 'hey you didn't discuss this with me' and they (1) just said 'reasons why it would be obvious' then they (2) talked to someone else who said 'yeah, if its obvious what's the issue?'. Like the issue was also that the person didn't discuss it with their partner, but it was resolved cause they only focused on what the discussion was about.

Hope this was helpful. And as I said, I did really enjoy it overall.
