About this audiobook

Gwen's never wanted to be a leader, but when no one else stepped up, she took on the role. As the mayor of post-apocalyptic Shreveport, she's made decisions to protect her people . . . and most of them have backfired disastrously. When she discovers that the dangerous gold dragon lurking outside of the fort has decided she's his mate, heartsick Gwen thinks that the best thing she can do is confront him and take him far away from the city.

She does this to save her people-her sister, her friends, her fort.

She doesn't expect to understand the dragon.

She certainly doesn't expect to fall in love.

Contains mature themes.

Is very good although do not expect a sex scene until the end. The female protagonist drags on soooo much. Its the first book of the series that i actually skipped chapters and still didn’t miss a thing of the story.

Wow, this book is the worst in the series so far. I love the series, but the heroine is so annoyingly repetitive in this book. She’s probably the one who had the most information on how to connect, but her stupidity prevents her from actually communicating properly with Von. So annoying, this is horrible. Whiny heroines annoy me and this book is the heroine just whining and contradicting her stupid self.
Spoiler alert: she doesn’t connect with the dragon until the very end of the book

Not my favorite of this series but still good. I love the world and all of the characters. I absolutely love the loyal and faithful heroes.

Gwen is the most stupid, boring character ever, by far worst book in series. Struggling to finish this book, only continuing as there is a sub plot connected to coming up books.
Vaan is a good character, shame he got such a rubbish mate as Gwen.

Gwen is not my favorite heroine, but the story ... *chef's kiss* Such a twist to the plot too, one of the only storylines that had the most knowledge going in but self struggles keep causing hiccups. Also, Vaughn - totally the hottest draconi yet!!

Loved it! Hot,sexy and the story line is good. Character are rich and believable. Gwen character I could have shaken, she was driving me crazy with indecisiveness.

20 chapters to long. All the books are the same. 1st two chapter are fine and then it makes you want to skip to the last 10 chapters.

    Yay for dragons!

Ruby's back with her drakoni and I could not be happier. I love her books and this series. Vaan is sweet and Gwen is feisty. They are pretty much perfect for each other. I can't wait to see what's coming next.
