About this audiobook

With her shining gift for “exquisite and enchanting” (Bookpage) storytelling, Jude Deveraux sweeps readers away in a breathtaking follow-up to her beloved New York Times bestseller, The Summerhouse—where a marvelous new adventure awaits.

Magic most definitely resides in the Maine summerhouse where the mysterious Madame Zoya has granted the innermost wishes of its visitors. Now, three women have come to this special place with one thing in common: a painful past they would each like to rewrite. Amy, who hides a heartbreaking loss behind her seemingly perfect marriage and family...Faith, a widow in her thirties whose deepest grief is for a man from years ago...and Zoe, an artist shunned by her hometown for reasons she doesn’t know, after a traumatic night erased her memory.

With their mystical powers, Madame Zoya and her sister Primrose are about to transport the trio to eighteenth-century England to alter Amy’s ancestry. But although surprises await each of them, will stepping back in time bring the women the happy endings they seek?

Intriguing. The best part was the description of the three women’s life in the early 19th century, and how they were challenged differently from the ways they were in contemporary lives.

Mi-a placut foarte mult, tot timpul ne intrebam ce am face daca am putea schimba ceva in trecut. Autoarea ne arata 3 exemple de femei care isi schimba destinul lor si celor din jur.

This time traveling adventure is the second book of the Summerhouse Series, and just the magical break I needed. The story has the same premise as the first book, but with a new group of ladies who, like it or not, are time traveling together. Wonderfully detailed, this fast paced story takes you on a suspenseful and clever journey to an eighteenth century English countryside. The plot is captivating and so artfully woven with endearing characters, that I didn't want this story to end! I enjoyed this book more than the first one! Now on to book #3.

Three women are given a chance to go back in time and change their lives. One goes to the distant past

I really liked this time travel book about three women, Amy who recently miscarried, widow Faith, and Zoe who has amnesia. It covers their lives today, three weeks in 1797 England, and then their lives after this experience. It’s like seven romances in one, a real treat for the romance lover.

Just as wonderful as the first one. Is there a third? I love what happens when these women go to the Summerhouse. You get to go back and fix your life, fix that one minor mistake that could make your life better.

Amy, Faith, and Zoe are strangers to each other when they meet at their therapist's summerhouse in Maine. They are linked by hardship: Amy is recovering from a miscarriage, Faith is coping with her husband's death, and Zoe has lost her memory following a serious car accident. After Amy suffers a series of frightening dreams that leave her physically injured, she convinces the others to join her in meeting mysterious Madame Zoya, a woman who allegedly possesses the power to help people rewrite their pasts. Madame Zoya transports the trio to eighteenth century England where Amy is charged with saving a man’s life in order to positively alter her own destiny. However, Faith and Zoe are also deeply impacted by men they meet in the English countryside, and their experiences lead to drastic changes in their present-day lives. Deveraux's fluffy tale is one of friendship, magic, and love. Through dialogue and flashbacks, the reader has the chance to connect to the intersecting lives of the female characters. Like her other novels, Return to Summerhouse is a smooth read, a relaxing “weekend getaway” that never gets too deep or fantastical. Read Deveraux's companion novel, Summerhouse, for more fantasy and time travel.

Not a very good read. I'm not sure if Deveraux had lost her touch, or I've just outgrown her stories.
