About this audiobook

A consummate insider as the girlfriend of Lindsey Buckingham, Fleetwood Mac singer and guitarist, Carol Ann Harris leads fans into the very heart of the band's storms between 1976 and 1984. From interactions between the band and other stars-Mick Jagger, Eric Clapton, and Dennis Wilson-to the chaotic animosity between band members, this memoir combines the sensational account of some of the world's most famous musicians with a thrilling love story. The parties, fights, drug use, shenanigans, and sex lives of Fleetwood Mac are presented in intimate detail. With the exception of one brief interview, Carol Ann Harris has never before spoken about her time with Fleetwood Mac.

So interesting listening to all the behind the scenes so to speak. Lindsey had volatile outbursts so sad to hear what happened. I believed they were both truly in love but also believe Carol did the right thing in the end.Loved it.

It’s hard to read bad things about people you admire, and I’m a huge Lindsey Buckingham fan. That hasn’t changed after reading this excellent book by LB’s ex-girlfriend, but I did feel immense sympathy for her. Nobody should endure an abusive relationship for one day, never mind several years. It’s not all doom and gloom, though, and it’s not all about Ms Harris’s relationship with LB. We have insights regarding what goes on behind the scenes in Fleetwood Mac’s world, as well as stories about those who come into contact with FM’s orbit. The author recalls as many humorous anecdotes as she does depressing ones. It’s arguable, of course, as to how much someone can recall in detail when writing of events a couple of decades into the past – particularly when larges amounts of cocaine were being consumed. I’d certainly like to know how the band feel about this biography, especially LB. Of the five band members, only John McVie is portrayed in a good light. That’s not to say the author continually bad-mouths the others – she often praises Stevie Nicks & Mick Fleetwood – but I can’t imagine they’d be too pleased with some of the revelations. It's a risky thing to write biographies on living people, so I have to admire the author for writing this book that could've angered or embarrassed a fair few individuals.

If you are a big Lindsey Buckingham fan, then this is the book for you. If you are a fan of any of the other band members, this is NOT the book for you. The author of this book paints Stevie Nicks as a unfeeling wired airhead. Granted, these were the times in which heavy alcohol and cocaine were in use, but she is constantly griping on Nicks. The other three members, Mick Fleetwood, John McVie and Christine McVie are characterized as a well oiled money making rock-n-roll band. Buckingham on the other hand, is everything everyone isn't in the most positive way. I am sure there is some truth to this memoir, but it seems very one sided.

The writing is not brilliant but the inside view of life on the road with Fleetwood Mac is eye popping stuff. Diehard Mac fans are of the opinion that the revelations contained herein are probably pretty accurate. A "must-read" for anybody who bought "Rumours".
