About this audiobook

Piper Skye is rock 'n' roll. She's party all night, sleep all day. She's get wild and be free.

Or she would be if she had the time. And the energy. And not being so awkward would probably help, too.

As the owner of a thriving dessert business, Piper spends her days at school and her nights elbow deep in batter and frosting. She's confident her hard work and sacrifice will pay off as long as she stays focused and sticks to the plan.

Jake Hyde is a workaholic with a jaded outlook on life. Surrounding himself with employees he considers his brothers, he long ago made the decision that his custom garage would be his focus.

Fate, as it often does, has other ideas. Plus, a killer sense of humor.

Thrown together by coincidence, the gruff mechanic and the sweet as sin baker have instant sparks. Suddenly, all of their carefully made plans have taken a giant freakin' left turn.

And they do it on the back of a Harley.

Contains mature themes.

Tropes/themes: virgin heroine, older hero, alpha/possessive/grumpy/silent hero

I read Hyde and Seek probably a year ago. When I was looking for it again I thought it was Kristen Ashley book. It definitely gives off those kind of vibes with the almost over the top possessive and jealous hero. This is really a good book for those who like Kristen Ashley and insane possessive hero types.

The heroine Piper is only twenty, is going to college, and owns her own bakery business. She is a very aloof and almost stoic at times. I believe the the author was trying to go for a mature heroine, but it didn't work for me. Although, I did like her for standing up her ground to the hero.

Now the hero, Jake is thirty-four. We never go into his POV until the very end of the book, so he is quite a mystery. I wasn't fond of him except for his possessive tendencies. He made some odd choice I wasn't too keen on.

Hyde and Seek is quite a long book, a bit longer than I think it should've been. The author incorporates a mystery-subplot that I felt was just thrown in there and not property executed. This book would've been more enjoyable if the story wasn't drawn out with the mystery-subplot and just focused on the relationship between Piper and Jake.

I didn't hated the book. I thought the first half was really good. I think if you want something along the lines of the tropes I listed, this would be an enjoyable read.

A really good story. Well developed with mystery, murder, romance, and steam. I recommend

I actually really liked this. I was waiting for the other shoe to drop when I read a review about the immaturity of the story. I didn't see that. I saw regular communication problems that all couples have and some almost unbelievable maturity about relationship expectations from someone that age. I love the absolute devotion alpha males have and this story delivers! It was great!
