About this audiobook

He's a professional hockey player trying to survive on his new team. I'm just trying to survive.

I'm down to my last dollar. I live day-to-day in a world that doesn't care. Despite my bad luck, I'm a fighter. I never give up. I never stop trying.

Ryan Parker's wealth and generosity sets him apart from anyone I know. Yet, I don't trust him. It's nothing personal. I trust no one. But when my bad luck takes a turn for the worse, one person shows up. Ryan Parker.

I do not understand why he bothered because the guy has enough of his own issues to deal with. But I don't have a choice. I need him. It's a matter of survival.

His friendship changed everything. It changed me. I started to believe in myself. I allowed myself to trust. And for the first time, in a long time, I felt my heart beat again.

Contains mature themes.

Some chapters are incomplete and abruptly end. I feel like I missed a few things. Story was okay, I enjoyed it enough. The three stars is for the missing chapters

Such a good listen! I was hesitant at first wondering how Zoey's homelessness would be approached but I thought the author did a fantastic job. It reminded me that we truly take our lives for granted and I adored Zoey for her strength, tenacity, and kindness. My heart truly felt this one. Absolutely loved the characters. And the spice was slow burn but dang it was perfection, especially the bonus chapter. Also thought the narrators did a fantastic job and Ryan's voice was so entertaining with that kinda surfer voice with Canadian mixed in.

This was sweet. How often do you get a homeless heroine?

There's a lot of fights. For such a sweet and tender hero, I found this kind of annoying.

There's also a part where Mica buys a television for the heroine twice, so you know, editing and continuity issues.

I actually felt like the power dynamic between a rich hockey player and the random homeless woman was really well done. Thanks to his mom. Additionally, I would really really love to read about Krista and was glad there was some kind of friendship for both protagonists to give this breath.
