About this audiobook
The #1 Personal Finance book of all time... translated into dozens of languages and sold around the world.
Rich Dad Poor Dad is Robert's story of growing up with two dads — his real father and the father of his best friend, his rich dad — and the ways in which both men shaped his thoughts about money and investing. The book explodes the myth that you need to earn a high income to be rich and explains the difference between working for money and having your money work for you.
20 Years... 20/20 Hindsight
In the 20th Anniversary Edition of this classic, Robert offers an update on what we've seen over the past 20 years related to money, investing, and the global economy. Sidebars throughout the book will take readers "fast forward" — from 1997 to today — as Robert assesses how the principles taught by his rich dad have stood the test of time.
In many ways, the messages of Rich Dad Poor Dad, messages that were criticized and challenged two decades ago, are more meaningful, relevant and important today than they were 20 years ago.
As always, readers can expect that Robert will be candid, insightful... and continue to rock more than a few boats in his retrospective.
Will there be a few surprises? Count on it.

Reviews for Rich Dad Poor Dad

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Insightful, easy to comprehend. Wish he went more into real estate strategies. Sound like he was wholesaling, flipping, buy/hold, and a subject to deal.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great book for personal finance advice and growth, loved it
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5In summary this is a great book for unscrupulous folks who want to invest in real estate. Robert’s advice centers mostly around real estate, including buying foreclosures and tax liens, both of which are usually at the disadvantage of working class people.
Robert also likes to throw out quips such as “You can easily turn $5k into $1M…” and then moves on without explanation. Further on in the book you find might be able to draw the conclusion that he is again talking about real estate, however, it is unclear because he doesn’t circle back and it feels like he mostly throws that in to get to keep reading.
It is interesting that this is a 20th anniversary updated edition and yet some things don’t seem to have been brought up to current times. For example, he has a whole lesson entitled “Be an Indian Giver”. The point he is trying to make is not bad, but he could definitely explain it without using an offensive and dated term.
He also praises Donald Trump as a great business man, which politics aside, Trump’s history of failed companies and his own tax returns made public do not support.
What I will say that Robert does well is highlight the disadvantages of working for someone else (working for money as he puts it) as opposed to working for yourself. Furthermore, if you are looking for inspiration to start your own business, this could be a good place to start.
One last thing I will say is that while he clearly was successful enough to write this book in the first place, he has likely made much of his wealth from this book and his subsequent publications. Take from that what you will. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Perfect for anyone looking to sharpen their understanding on investing
