He flew almost all PAF fighter aircraft completin...view moreTariq Mahmud Ashraf joined the Pakistan Air Force after graduating from Cadet College, Hasan Abdal and was commissioned as a Pilot Officer in 1975. He flew almost all PAF fighter aircraft completing over a thousand hours each, on the F-16 and the MiG-19 aircraft. A distinguished graduate of the PAF Combat Commander’s School, the Pakistan National Defence Course and the RAF Staff College, he served on the faculty of the first two. He has published several books and over 70 research papers worldwide. Highly decorated, with three presidential awards, he has commanded an elite F-16 Squadron, a Tactical Wing and an operational Base. He has also served as a Defence Attaché and as Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Operations). He holds one Masters and two Bachelors degrees and is completing another Masters. Blessed with three sons and a granddaughter, he is currently employed with Air University and lives in Islamabad.view less
