      Yes this is part of a series, but it can be just as well be read as a standalone since it is also starting a new trilogy. To make a long story short, first there were the 3 Westfield Brothers, then we had Dash who stood a bit alone, then we got 3 vampire books with the remaining witches and now we have 3 more brothers (related to Dash)and they will find love. I made it sound complicated didn't it? Anyway, it works on its on in the end.

      We met the brothers in previous books and they are just rakes and bad ton, not to mention they are broke. But Weston has been in love with Madeleine for years but she is the daughter of a Duke and he is a nobody. A bad boy, and I do love to see them change. While Maddie is a little princess, but at least she knows that she does not want to marry the idiots her father wants her to marry. Yes he makes rash decisions, but he is honorable and she is falling for him. And I do like the ones were they do fall fast, but at the same time they (well one of them) do not like each other. He can't just snap a finger and make her love him.

      In this one I also saw who is brother Archer will fall for and that only leaves one brother, and I do wonder who his lady will be. But that is for later books and this is now, and once again I like Dare's easy style, the passion between the couple and sprinkle of paranormal. He might be a werewolf but it does not take over. It's a historical romance with paranormal elements. Elements that fits so easily that I could easily think there are werewolves hidden there.

      Conclusion:
      I am happy with this latest installment and I am looking forward to more. Dare's werewolf are just too sexy!

      I struggled throught the first two thirds of the book. I could not finish it. It became cookie cutter and immature. The hero had no backbone and the heroine was a spoiled grump. This series ends for me.

      The Wolf Who Loved Me

      The first half of the book is very engaging and enjoyable. Unfortunately, the second half is ruined by the over-reliance on tropes that I simply despise - silly misunderstandings and lack of communication between the hero and heroine.

      As the story begins, Madeline is portrayed as loyal friend and an intelligent woman struggling against the dictates of her social station. However, once she and Wes set out on their journey together, she is revealed to be a spoiled and selfish brat whose constant whining and thoughtless jabs at Wes's nature made me want to smack her hard.

      Wes, on the other hand, is a sweet and endearing hero. He is earthy, sexy and passionate in his love for Madeline, although I have no idea what he sees in her, and it is clear here that love certainly is deaf, dumb and blind.

      Unlike the previous books in the series in which the paranormal elements take center stage, here they are secondary and serve only to move the plot forward by placing Wes and Madeline together in a compromising position. This is unfortunate as the Lycan aspects of the stories have wonderful potential.

      The ending improves slightly but the damage has already been done. It should be said that the secondary characters are very intriguing, especially Wes's older brother Archer and Maddie's penniless friend, Lady Sophie. Sparks certainly fly between the two of them and I look forward to reading their book. Hopefully it will come out very soon.

      I have loved all of Linda Dare's ( the writing duo of Tammy Faulkner and Jodie Pearson) books and this entire series is so much fun. But this one just fell flat. The characters are nearly unlikable what with Weston's whining and Madeline's air of entitlement. I can tell you that Weston is not a dark overly brooding werewolf and thank the heaven's for that, but he does whine overly much about his lack of funds and how he isn't good enough for the fair Maddie who is a Duke's daughter.Madeline is destined to marry a peer since she is a Duke's daughter. So far none of the men whom her father has trotted out interests her.Weston is a werewolf and merely a man with no title or money. He also has a scar which seems to frighten Maddie. One night Maddie sees Weston under the full moon as he changes into the wolf and according to the werewolf laws he must make sure she never tells. He feels that he either has to wed her or kill her. Luckily for Weston has always had a thing for Maddie. So he kidnaps her off they go to Gretna Green.The rest of the story consists of the trip to Scotland, the adventures they have while on the way, with people they pick up and then a HUGE misunderstanding while in Scotland after their marriage is consummated.Confusion reigns, mistakes are made and words exchanged that should never had been said and Maddie is kidnapped again.Now Weston wants to have the marriage annulled for *her* sake, because he truly loves her and has her on such a pedestal that he only wants what is best for her and the heck with his feelings.At the beginning of the book, we are being treated to two separate stories. There is another story line about Maddies friend Sophie and Weston's brother Archer and I was very interested in that one. But alas, we never really revisit the pair so I can only assume that Sophie and Archer's story will be the next in this series.A fair read, but not one that held me as the first books in this series did.

      Lady Madeline Hayburn has a hefty dowry - which means every gentlemen of the ton is trying to catch her. Even her neighbor the ever wild Weston Hadley.If you are a frequent visitor you know I love Dare's Regency lycans & vampyres. This installment is no different, I loved it. I'm glad we get to see more of the Hadley brothers, they are every bit as fun as the Westfield brothers. The Wolf Who Loved Me is an excellent read. I love that, though Maddie and Weston are quite different in class (or at least the ton thinks) there is still this power that draws them to each other. It's quite delicious. Ms. Dare delivers another page turner. A fun romance that is wild and sexy.

      If you are looking for a Historical, Paranormal Romance that is fun to read – here is your book! I have never been disappointed in Lydia Dare’s books and The Wolf Who Loved Me is one of the best.The Wolf Who Loved Me is a part of the Westfield Wolves series. This is one book that you do not feel as if you missed anything by not reading the others in the series. I will warn you that after you finish this book, you will want to read those books!I love the characters, the action, the plot and that is wasn’t too graphic. I thoroughly enjoy it and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes this genre.
