The Repentant Sicarii

About this ebook
Two close friends, one a violent pragmatist engaged in a murderous war against occupation, the other a self-proclaimed messiah here to save humanity. This retelling of the relationship between Judas Iscariot and Jesus of Nazareth is about an extraordinary friendship set against a remarkable event. In place of the commonly perceived self-serving traitor comes Judas, the tough, charming and unwavering disciple. When asked by Jesus to betray him, Judas dutifully obeys. What follows will break his heart and body, but with it will come absolution and repentance – a final gift from his friend – for a man whose hands are stained deep with the blood of his victims.
The Repentant Sicarii is the first in the Scarred Hearts series of short stories, which follow the interwoven lives of ten individuals close to Jesus of Nazareth in the days leading to his death.

THE REPENTANT SICARII

My name is Judas Iscariot, held to be the man who betrayed Jesus.
It is not true.
This is the truth, though I don’t say I was a good man.
I have hanged myself, and I thought it would be quick: how it should be. An
