I received this book free from LTER and let me tell you, it is hilarious (and definitely not for kids). The artwork is beautiful and the text makes a funny juxtaposition. I still can't decide which page is my favorite. Everyone who has entered my home in the past 2 days has read and laughed at this book.

This book is crazy. The art is really well done, and from the dialog it seems that animals around the world are living with the rich inner monologues of internet-generation 20-somethings. While this is a quick read, it is humorous and strange, and I really enjoyed it.

This isn't a children's book! I thought from the description that it might be a fun addition to my classroom library. I was wrong! However, it was throughly enjoyed in the teacher's lounge. It brought some much needed chuckles as the end of the school tear approaches and everyone is feeling stress and burn out. Cute idea for a grown-up audience.

Illustrations of animals are paired with common human concerns and thoughts. I guess I had to be in the right mood for this, because the first few times I tried reading it, I didn't find it terribly funny. I was amused once I figured out the style of humor, but I probably wouldn't pick this up to peruse other than to look at the pretty pictures.

This sounded very funny when I saw it in the catalog. It wasn't. It was somewhat funny. The author puts together illustrations of various wild animals with sayings of college students. The sayings are banality itself, which can make for a lot of humor, but many are deployed poorly and some of them are just plain boring. The thing is, you can read it in the time it takes to back your car out of the driveway, and the pictures are cute, so it isn't necessarily a waste of time, and if you get it cheap enough, probably not a waste of money, either. Just don't expect too much, and you won't be disappointed.

The illustrations are fantastic, but the captions are just random and not very funny. The only chuckle I got was when the thrash metal spider shows up again, and only then because it was unexpected. I know there are people out there for whom this kind of juxtaposition is hilarious, but I thought it was pretty meh.

Minimally funny. A handful were mildly humorous and one or two were worthy of a slight giggle. But generally, not totally worth the time spent reading it.

You'll laugh so hard you cry, then you'll want a snack. This may look like an innocent children's picture book but this is rather more pg13 than general audience. Full of adorable illustrations and mouthy mammals, reptiles, amphibians and more, Are You Dissing Me? truly answers the age old question of what are they thinking? 4 stars for this Librarything Early Review copy, freely provided for review by Chronicle Books.

Ok, since I wondering what the point is, I clearly didn't get it. It's a picture book for adults. Each page has an animal that looks a lot like the ones in old picture books from the 80's (like the covers) and one sentence reflecting some jaded oddity of life...maybe single life in your early thirties. There is a touch a humor, a touch of picture/text contrast, and a touch of offense. (Examples: A bear says "I watch a lot of porn", and a cardinal says "my roommate is, like, such an A-hole") It looks like a children's book, but definitely not suitable for kids, especially if they can read it.

It's a small novelty-sized book of animal drawings with humorous captions, such as a hummingbird saying, "I joined an improv class! You can say whatever you want in those places!!!" So, not hilarious, but some of the drawings are very good.

Received this book for Early Reviewers. It's a short quirky book. Some of the animals are funnier than others, but the artwork throughout is really well done. The humor falls more on the dry sarcastic side than the side stitching uproarious side.

Christmas gift from my brother, I think- short, cute, fun (but not for children), and too real. The illustrations vaguely remind me of Alexandra Day's illustration.
