- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5An intriguing book outlining the life and career of Ted Cruz. At the time of the release of the book, Ted Cruz was trying to obtain the nomination for President of the United States for the Republican Party. I do have to admit I purchased this book the week it came out and began to read it right away. Due to my schedule, I didn't finish the book at that time, but this in no way was because I didn't adore it. When I finally was able to finish it a few days ago, I was delighted and saddened at the same time. The book a refreshing insight into D.C. politics from a real perspective, Cruz discusses in detail how he and a few fellow Senators/House of Representatives stand up to the establishment of the "Washington Cartel" to fight for their constituents. Cruz brilliantly begins each topic with an anecdote that leads into the relating subject of that particular chapter. Through this process, the reader is introduced to individuals in history not commonly known in a political book. As an admirer of the Constitution, I appreciated the chapters he wrote displaying his dedication defending it, during his time as the Solicitor General of Texas. I welcomed the chapters giving unique knowledge about many of the Supreme Court Judges. A book filled with observations from a man that is passionate about protecting America and its citizens from the rights given to us by our Founding Fathers.
