    The Middle East conflict, which we see on the news today is nothing new. Post WW1 the Allied Forces occupied the Middle East in 1919. A Peace Keeping Force was drafted into Constantinople, Turkey, to maintain order after the turmoil of the Mesopotamian Campaign, in the dying stages of the Ottoman Empire.

    Young British soldiers faced daily conflict from ethnic tribes, soaring crime rates, extreme temperatures and the fatality of tropical diseases. My Uncle-In-Law, Ronald Crabtree, aged 18, was one of these soldiers. This is his story. 100th WW1 Anniversary Edition 1914-1918.
