About this ebook
The nationally bestselling author of Delilah’s Daughters and The Amen Sisters returns with a moving story about a single mother who discovers the woman she can be in one unforgettable summer.
As a single mother, Destiny makes sacrifices for her children—including saying goodbye for the summer so they can spend time with their father and stepmother. Though she’ll miss them with all her heart, the time alone gives her an opportunity to address her own needs, like finish getting her college degree. But Destiny’s friends think her summer should include some romance.
Destiny doesn’t want to be set up…until she meets Daniel. The handsome, warm and charming pastor soon sweeps Destiny off her feet. But is romance what she really wants? Or needs?
As the days pass, Destiny will make new discoveries—about herself, the man she’s fallen for, and the people around her. And she’ll face challenging choices. But most of all, she’ll grow in ways she never imagined, learning unexpected lessons about trust, forgiveness, and the price of motherhood…and truly become the woman she wants to be.

Reviews for The Summer of Me

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The Summer of Me has well developed characters and the story line is interesting. This novel was a good summer read. I would like to read more of the characters in sequential novels. The words flowed well with no grammatical errors. I will definitely read more from Angela Benson.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I liked this book well enough to continue reading when I realized it was an inspirational title. As much as the characters cleared the air at the end of the novel, I felt that there were several more conversations that could have taken place. I didn't like how nosy Natalie was about her friends' romantic relationships, and how everyone just tolerated it. I would not have the patience. This novel touched on a lot of important issues (financial awareness, blended families, cancer, and more), and I appreciated that I could see Destiny's growth over the course of the story.
PS - I HATED Kenneth and am really surprised he didn't turn out to be more of a snake. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The Summer of Me has well developed characters and the story line is interesting.
