    Chapter One

    THE SHATTERING NEWS!

The day, on 6th July, 2011, started out like a normal one. For 21years, I had lived and worked in Port-Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State. As far as the notable chaotic transportation situation in many major cities is concerned, Port-Harcourt seems to have a tolerable commuting system to a reasonable extent. Between the part of the city that I lived and where my office was located, it took about 25minutes of travel time. For that reason, the breaking of the day was usually devoid of heavy pressure. Eventually, I found my way to the hospital. It was a private clinic with a specialist on Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT). I did not wait long before being ushered to the doctor’s consulting room. After taking the medical history,
