The Saharan Desert Largest & hottest desert in the world, covering most of northern Africa, making it almost as large as China or the united states. The Sahara covers large parts of Algeria, Chad, Egypt, Libya, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Niger, Western Sahara, Sudan and Tunisia. The river Nile, the longest river in the world, flows through Egypt, almost entirely through the desert. It also contains oases, like Siwa Oasis, which, historically, is ancient Libyan. Because of the climate, not much exists outside of oasis in the Sahara desert. Things like olives and dates are cultivated, and animals like goats. 6000 BC the ancient Egyptians had been cultivating cattle, sheep, pigs, and where making jewelry, skin hides and large buildings. They also cultivated cereal. Around 3400 BC the atmosphere in the Saharan desert had changed, making it as hot as it is today, cutting off a lot of trading routes between the different settlements in ancient Egypt. In the 19th century most of the northern area of the Saharan had been taken over by the Ottoman empire, then to be taken and occupied mostly by the British in the very late years of the century.

Inventor An invention is a unique or novel device, method, composition or process. It may be an improvement upon a machine or product, or a new process for creating an object or a result. An invention that achieves a completely unique function or result may be a radical breakthrough. Such works are novel and not obvious to others skilled in the same field. 6000~ BC was a time when they first began to learn how to use metals to produce things like jewelry and metal weapons. Gold had already been established as a luxury metal, and many minerals could be found in the Saharan dessert like iron.
