I currently am enrolled in The University of New Hampshires nursing program.

I plan on finishing out my education here and getting my BSN in 2015. After graduation my goal is to take the nursing states boards and become a registered nurse. I would like to eventually go back to school and become a nurse practitioner. However, before I go back to school I would like to get experience working in a hospital. This will allow me to gain confidence in this profession while also obtaining hands on knowledge that you do not always get while in nursing school. I currently work as a licensed nursing assistant at The Elliot Hospital in Manchester. I work in the float pool and I have been to almost every floor in the hospital. Having the opportunity to do this I have seen a lot of interesting and exciting things that most licensed nursing assistants do not get the chance to see. With these experiences I have narrowed down what floors I would prefer to work on once I graduate. My two favorite floors to work on are pediatrics and the cardiac intensive care unit. My goal is to try and get a job on floors similar to these once I become a register nurse. After a few years of working in a hospital and figuring out what I really like to do I plan on continuing my education and attending nurse practitioner school. If I really enjoy working in a hospital setting I will go back to the hospital after my schooling is finished and get a job as a nurse practitioner there. If I decide the hospital setting is not for me then I ultimately would like to work in a doctors office along side a physician.
