' Rationale:'' We!believe!it!is!important!for!our!Student!Center!Building!Managers!to!understand! their!professional!roles!as!well!as!how!that!correlates!with!our!colleges!guiding! principles!and!Jesuit!tradition.!This!training!program!serves!that!purpose!by! focusing!on!each!of!our!values!each!day!through!activities,!discussions,!and!sessions.! In!order!to!create!a!cohesive!working!environment!between!our!Student!Center! Building!Managers,!this!training!program!serves!to!create!opportunities!to!build! community!among!one!another!and!other!student!staff,!as!well!as!providing! students!with!the!tools!to!perform!their!work!successfully.!' ' We!are!grounded!in!our!values!and!faith,!and!we!use!those!to!help!guide!us!through! our!journey.!We!did!not!design!this!training!program!to!be!specifically!tied!to!Jesuit! values!or!tradition;!however,!for!the!purpose!of!our!institution!type,!it!was! important!for!us!to!infuse!Jesuit!principles.!Our!training!program!can!be!easily! adapted!to!any!religious!institutional!type!because!it!focuses!on!faith!as!a!part!of! ones!journey.!' ' Connectedness'to'Coursework:'' Our!training!program!emulates!the!relational!leadership!model!(Komives,!Lucas,!&! McMahon,!2007,!p.!73B75)!in!that!we!are!trying!to!have!our!students!view! leadership!as!a!relational!and!ethical!process!of!people!together!attempting!to! accomplish!positive!change!(p.!74).!Through!our!community!building!activities,! ethical/values!discussion,!and!discussion!about!being!a!student!leader,!we!put!the! relational!leadership!model!into!practice.!'
