Statement of Purpose

Having being introduced to the basics of Management Subjects during my undergraduate course, I developed significant interest in Supply Chain Management (SCM). This interest ultimately led me to a hands-on experience that I gained during my Final-Year Project at Toyota Kirloskar Motors where I came across various processes & functions involved in SCM along with unique Toyota concepts of kaizen, JIT and Lean supply chain.

While working in Tata Consultancy Services, I was involved in process improvement activities such as defect analysis and rectification as well as reengineering of the client application. I was substantial experience of working within rigorous deadlines and "soft skills of leadership, teamwork, ethics, and communication. Having worked closely with my Manager, I learnt about the dynamics & intricacies involved in the management of an organization. Also my role as a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Head gave me immense exposure to human resource management in social activities. I even completed Competent Leadership programme from Toastmasters International. After two years of such valuable work experience, I decided to pursue an MBA from NITIE in order to derive in-depth knowledge of the subjects in SCM.

After joining NITIE, my next step would be to gain experience in the world of e-commerce by working as a Summer Trainee in Amazon. A reputed and customer-centric company such as Amazon provides a perfect platform to kick start my career in the field of SCM and explore various facets which include Logistics, Inventory Management & Customer Service in which Amazon pioneers. The combination of my IT work experience and my passion for SCM aligns with the roles and responsibilities offered by Amazon during its summer internship. Also, my knowledge of current trends in e-commerce and supply chain will help in contributing to the companys future plans of expansion in India. It has been my dream and ambition to be a part of Earths most customer-centric company as my learning and inclination towards SCM started with the example of Amazon and its journey to success in e-commerce.
