1) In the circuit shown in the figure below, the switch is put in position - 1 for 1 m sec and then thrown to position - 2. Find the transient current in both intervals.

2) Derive the expression for transient response of RLC series circuit with unit step input.

3) Using classical method find i(t) for t =0., for the network shown in figure below.

4) Derive the expression for i(t) of a R-L series circuit when D.C voltage is applied to it at t = 0 by closing the switch. Define the time constant of R - L circuit.

Unit -3 1. Design a low pass T-section filter having a cut-off frequency of 1.5 KHz to operate with a terminated load resistance of 600 ohms? 2. Design a Band elimination filter having a design impedance of 500 ohms and cut-off frequencies f1=1 KHz, f2=5 KHz?

Unit -4 1. Design a T-type attenuator to have a attenuation of 40dB and to work between source impedance of 70 ohms and load impedance of 600 ohms? 2. An attenuator is composed of symmetrical T-section having series arm each of 185 ohms and shunt arm of 350 ohms. Calculate the characteristic impedance and attenuation per section? 3. Explain in detail the construction of a three phase induction motor specifying in detail the squirrel cage and slip ring rotor construction. 5. A 3 phase, 16 pole alternator has a star connected winding with 144 slots and 10 conductors per slot. The flux per pole is 30 mwb sinusoidally distributed. Find the frequency, the phase and line voltage if the speed is 380 rpm.
