student teacher supervisor. She student taught in a fifth grade classroom. I observed her several times during this assignment. Angela has grown in her confidence during this semester. She has the persona of a successful classroom teacher. Her demeanor is calm and reassuring as she manages the classroom. Students know that she is consistent and fair. There is a positive atmosphere in the room where students are respected and encouraged to learn. She sets high standards for herself and for the students. She brings relativity to her lessons by using real world examples. Learning is tied to how the students are going to use the skills and information in their lives. This helps students to stay engaged and interested in what is being taught. She is well planned. She does extended research to enhance the lessons. Skills and strategies are explained in various ways to ensure all students are learning. She uses formative assessments to guide her instruction. Cooperative groups are used during lessons that enable students to be problem solvers. She follows the curriculum and teaches it with fidelity. Angela works well with her colleagues. She collaborates with them by providing ideas and solutions. She has participated in parent activities and communicates well with the parents. She is easily coached. She seeks suggestions and incorporates them into her teaching. Angela is excited about being a teacher. She brings enthusiasm and respect to learning. She will make a contribution to any staff.
