Job Title: Budget Analyst

General Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of an Assistant Budget Director, reviews annual budget requests of state agencies, analyzes legislation prior to action of Governor, and undertakes program analyses and evaluations.

Major Duties:

1. Reviews annual budget requests from state agencies. 2. Recommends agency budget figures to Asst. Budget Director. 3. Analyzes legislation prior to action of Governor. 4. Evaluates effectiveness of agency programs.

Required Knowledge, Knowledge of budget formats and statutes governing state budget Skills and Abilities procedures; ability to perform statistical analyses, including multiple regression; working knowledge of standard accounting procedures; ability to write clearly; good interpersonal skills.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Public Administration or related field or Bachelor's degree with three years of experience in budgeting and financial administration.
