‘bl TEACH YOURSELF ESPERANTO Esperanto is the simple, auxiliary language created by a Polish oculist, Dr L. L. Zamenhof, with the intention that it should become the second language of all the different- speaking peoples of the world. This book offers a comprehensive course in Esperanto for the student working by him or herself. The first four units are designed to provide a working knowledge of grammar and vocabulary. A further eleven units build on that knowledge, showing how to use Esperanto in reading, listening, speaking and writing. TEACH YOURSELF BOOKS An audio-cassette has been produced to accompany this course and is available separately via all good bookshops or, in case of difficulty, direct from the publishers. For further details please write to the publishers at the address given on page iv, enclosing an SAE and quoting Teach Yourself Books (Dept. E/Cass).
