ACCESSING MY HOME FOLDER AND FACULTY FROM HOME (eT4L)

This will work on a Mac and Window machine. My Files will only work on I.E prior to 8, Firefox and Google Chrome. 1. Login to DEC Portal.

2. Click on the grey plus box Add content to your page.

You will see the following options. 3. Select My Files by clicking on the blue plus across from the heading.

Note: If My Files has been previously set up this box will not appear here.
You will need to access My Files link elsewhere. See me for further support.

4. This will be added to your portal grey box section. To edit and add a link to our school server, click the cog and then the spanner (edit) icon. Prepared by Helen Thomas - Revised March 2013 Accessing My Files from Home Page 1

Clicking the edit icon will open this window.

5. Give the link a name. For example, Faculty. Faculty 6. Then type the pathway \\xxxxDIP000SF001.detns w.win\Faculty
Note: XXXX is replaced with your school code.

\\xxxxDIP000SF001.detnsw.win\Faculty

Or use this address \\xx.xxx.xx.xx\Faculty Note: xx.xxx.xx.xx is the school IP address. Ask your CC. Click save and then close. 7. You should see the link to Faculty appear as the name you have given the link. Then click Add a link.

8. Create a link name to access your home directory or folder from home. Give this link a name. For example Home Files or My Home etc. 9. Type the pathways
\\xxxxDIP000SF001.detnsw.win\ Staff\ _ ___________. ____________ \\xxxxDIP000SF001.detnsw.win\Staff\_helen.thoma s8

( Portal user name)


Note: XXXX is replaced with your school code. Ensure you use an underscore before your username. The spaces at the end of the address is where you add your user name. Or use this with the school IP address \\xx.xxx.xx.xx\Faculty\Staff\_firstna me.lastname

Note: xx.xxx.xx.xx is the school IP address. Ask your CC. There is an underscore before your username but it cant be seen as it is underlined to show a link.

Click Save and then Close. 10. My Files will now have two links. One to access Faculty and the other link to access your Home Files. Click close when you see these two links.

11. Click on the Home Files link.

The following window will open.

12. Use your portal username and change the @det to @detnsw Type your username and password and then click OK.

13. Congratulations you have successfully accessed your home folder. You can download and upload files or folders from this screen. You can download and upload files or folders from this screen as zip files. You can select several files and add them to a shopping cart before you download the files as a zip file. 14. Click on Faculty and then follow Step 12.

15. Congratulations you have successfully accessed your Faculty folders. Open the required folder you have rights to, to access files.
