Brief History of the Boxer The boxer owes its existence to Alts Flora, a French-bred bitch who was

mated with a dog of similar type to produce Lechners Boxel, who was whelped in Germany. Boxel was mated to his mother and they produced Alts Schecken, who was bred to the UK-bred bull-dog Tom and produced Flocki, #1 in the Munich Boxer Club stud book. Tom and Schecken were mated again and produced Ch Blanka von Angertor, whilst Boxel and Flora produced the dog Maiers Lord, who was bred with Maiers Flora to produce Piccolo von Angertor. Piccolo and Blanka produced the bitch Meta von der Passage, and it is she who is known today as the Eve of the breed though surely that accolade must go to Alts Flora, for without her there would be no boxers at all.
