Electronic devices that are activated (by a call or text etc) during class will be turned over to the main office for disposition. 3. Be in class and on time l Use the restroom and/or your locker before you come to class. l Attend class every day that you possibly can. You do NOT want to get behind in this class. GRADES Major Tests 65% There will usually be 4 each 9 weeks, 3 unit tests and an exam. Daily Work 15% This includes class assignments and, possibly, notes from class lessons. Quizzes 20% There will be about 4 each 9 weeks. In general, no credit will be given unless work that supports an answer is shown. Any assignment that is graded dishonestly (by students) will be recorded as a zero. Daily assignments may be graded on either accuracy or completion, or both. There will be no retests or second chances on quizzes as such. However, in addition to counting as a separate test, the nine weeks test can replace a students lowest test grade up to a maximum grade of 80 if such a replacement improves that students average. MAKE-UP WORK AND LATE WORK If you are absent, you are responsible for getting class notes and working, checking, and submitting makeup work in a timely fashion. To receive full credit, makeup work after an absence of n days must be submitted within (n+3) school days (not class days) of your return. Missed tests must be made up outside of class time (that is, either before or after school) in a single sitting. Be sure to allow at least 45 minutes. Late work will be accepted for one-half credit if submitted within 3 school days of the original due date. Students are encouraged to complete and submit all work on time in order to receive maximum credit. TUTORING Tutoring is available from 7:00 7:30 am/3:00 3:30pm by appointment only. I do not tutor students during lunch or 7th period planning. However, students are welcome to come by during my planning period to check and submit makeup work, to make up a test or a quiz, or to confer with me. My web site is your primary source of information about this class. Here you will find assignments, test and quiz dates, handouts, and similar useful information. It can be found at http://www.mathzilla.weebly.com. Students are expected to know of the existence, location, and content of this site and use this information to obtain makeup work following an absence. SUPPLIES

Required supplies include the following: 1. Pencils with erasers ALL work must be done in pencil. Work done in ink (even erasable ink) will be worth no more than one-half credit. 2. A spiral or composition notebook (70-100 pages) for taking notes. 3. Dedicated three-ring binder with 5 dividers for math only. 4. Pen (for grading) 5. Loose leaf notebook paper, and graph paper. I also recommend, but do not require a scientific or graphing calculator.
