The Commission has taken several steps in this direction, which include sensitizing policy makers and all other co traders improving the efficiency of all the participants in the marketing chain by organizing awareness programmes, workshops, subject specific consultancies, study tours, lectures, etc., members In 2005 24 awareness programmes were organized by FMC together with the National and Regional Commodity Exchanges. Each of these programmes were attended by around 150 to 200 participants including traders, farmers, members of capital markets, members from industries, NGOs, representatives of cooperative bodies, banks, exporters, importers and general investors. Although much progress has been made in sensitizing players, the task is far from complete. FMC has set itself an ambitious target for reaching out to various market segments and grass roots level participants. FMC solicits active collaboration with Universities, Educational Institutions and other organizations desiring to spread awareness about Futures Trading in commodities. On its part FMC would extend its support in the following areas: 1. Reimburse upto 50% of the expenditure incurred in conducting Awareness Programmes 2. Provide Faculty Support 3. Collaborate with the National Exchanges for providing Faculty Support 4. Provide reading material for distribution during the Awareness Programmes
