The Salad Bowl Festival is established to promote the City of Guadalupe and the Central Coast through a quality celebrationofalltheproducethatmakesagreatsalad,andtoprovidecollegescholarshipstolocalyouth.

Dear Artisan: You are invited to apply for booth space to display and sell your original artwork at the inaugural Salad Bowl Festival. Please read through the entire package carefully. This years festival will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2013, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in downtown Guadalupe on Highway 1 (a.k.a. Guadalupe St.) between 8th & 10th Streets. There will be entertainment, arts and crafts vendors, food and beverage booths, commercial booths, the Grease & Greens Car Show, and the return of Cabbage Bowling. Extensive promotion assures coverage in all media and attendance is expected to be high as this event is on a heavily trafficked highway. We encourage you to apply for space to display and sell your creative efforts at the Salad Bowl Festival. Arts & Crafts Policies & Procedures Eligibility Art booths are limited to original works in the recognized fine arts and crafts field. The following are not eligible for exhibit: works which are mass-produced or manufactured, including attire, head wear, leather goods; made from commercial molds, kits, patterns, stencils; commercial displays, imported, manufactured or kit jewelry; ceramics cast from commercial molds and air swings or chairs. Exhibit items are limited to hand-crafted, original work such as paintings, drawings, photography, sculpture, pottery, ceramics, jewelry, leatherwork, woodwork, glass, textiles or any other fine art of traditional craft items. Any participant who violates these eligibility criteria will be asked to leave the grounds and will not be considered for future festivals. Hold Harmless Agreement Vendor shall be solely responsible for any and all injuries to persons or damages to property or any other injury, claim, damage or loss of whatever nature, arising from or related to the festival. Vendor shall indemnify, save and hold harmless Salad Bowl Festival, Inc. and its employees, agents and volunteers from and against all liability, loss, damages, claims, costs and expenses (including reasonable attorneys fees) arising out of injury to person (including death) or damage to property or any other injury, claim, damage, loss, cost or expense arising from the festival performed by vendor including, but not limited to, any negligence, act or omission of vendor. IMPORTANT Please do not incorporate the name Salad Bowl Festival or use the Salad Bowl Festival Logo in your work unless you have prior written authorization to do so. The name and logo are protected by trademark and copyright laws, and require a licensing agreement. The Salad Bowl Festival Association requires that approved vendors agree not to use the term Salad Bowl Festival or The Logo, or anything confusingly similar to the term Salad Bowl Festival or the Festival Logo, on any product the vendor will sell which has not been produced under an approved License Agreement signed by the Salad Bowl Festival. Since the Salad Bowl Festival is a theme event, artists are encouraged to incorporate produce as a design component in their work, but it is not a requirement. Please enclose a sketch only of how you will do this. Application Deadline All applications must be received in our office no later than 5:00 p.m., Friday, October 11, 2013. Application Procedure Return the application form (Pages 3-5) with a check to Salad Bowl Festival; 1065 Guadalupe St., Guadalupe CA 93434.

Booth Space Fee Art booth space is available for: $25 (10'x10'deep) $35(15'x10'deep) $50 (20'x10'deep) - A limited number of double booth spaces will be available $50 corner space. A limited number of corner spaces are available for an additional fee. Procedures for Accepted Applications 1. If accepted, booth space will be assigned taking artists needs into consideration. Please indicate any unusual needs you may have when completing the application. We will do our best to fulfill your request; however we cannot make any guarantees. Expect changes. We feel it necessary to attract festival patrons to the Arts & Crafts area. 2. Artists are to provide their own displays, tables, racks, shade, etc. We ask that displays be orderly and aesthetically pleasing. Displays must be set up and ready no later than 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Artists may start setting up at 9:00 a.m. 3. There is no electricity in the Arts & Crafts areas. The use of generators and batteries is prohibited. 4. Merchandise must not be removed from the booth until the Festival is closed to the public. Artist agrees to remove all booth material and clean up vendor space by 5:00 p.m., Saturday, October 19, 2013. 5. Artist agrees to accept responsibility for all materials and goods furnished by him/her, and used or displayed in the booth area. While the Festival will make reasonable efforts to provide security, the exhibitor accepts full responsibility for his/her personal property. 6. Once notified of acceptance, if you decide not to participate, kindly notify the Salad Bowl Festival immediately. This way we can offer your space to another artisan. 7. Payment is due Friday, October 11, 2013. No exceptions. Space will be reassigned. An artists fee will not be refunded if he/she withdraws from the Festival, unless the committee is notified by September 30, 2013, and there is just cause for such a request. No refunds after October 1, 2013. 8. If an artist fails to open his/her display in the space assigned by 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 19, 2013, the committee reserves the right to assign that space to someone else. 9. Artists must comply with all applicable Federal, State and local statutes and ordinances, and agree to assume full responsibility for the collection and payment of all sales taxes occasioned by use of booth space. 10. You, THE ARTIST, must be in attendance at your booth during the hours of 11:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 19, 2013. Do not send friends, family or paid representatives to replace you. Your presence is required. Bring enough inventories for the day. If you leave early you will not be allowed to participate the following year.
