What is the purpose of the website and why was it designed? (inform, facts, data, persuade, explain, sell, entice, share/disclose, other)

Response
The purpose of the website is to give services using the Picture Exchange Communication System to children with autism. It is designed to teach young children to communicate in a social context (Bondy & Frost, 1994; Frost & Bondy, 2002). The audiences of the website are children with autism. In my own opinion, some professionals responsible in handling children with special needs were the ones who owned this site. Named as the National Professional Development Center On. This site serves as a multi-university center that promotes the used of evidence-based practice for children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder.

The site dos not clearly state who published the site but in my own opinion, I think it was the professionals who are responsible in handling children with special needs specifically for those children with autism were the ones made and published this site.

I was impress by looking at this site because there are really people who actually have their time just to make this kind of site especially if it has something to do to children with autism. By using Picture Exchange Communication System it helps students to have a better communication towards people. As a future educator I can say that PECS would be very helpful to us and by using this, materials are cheap, easy to prepare and portable.

A. Describe briefly this interactive game/ online quiz, benefits a class. This website contains a lot of interactive games, but I only chose 1 which is entitled: What Color. This game helps the student not just to identify what color is being asked but rather it also allows the student to have this critical thinking skill. B. How will this be integrated in class? This can also be integrated in an inclusive classroom set-up so that, for those students who have difficulty identifying colors it will then be easier for them. A. What is the message of this video? The video teaches students with multiple disabilities the concept of Parts of the body. The subject integrated in the lesson is Science. B. What are the benefits of showing this video to the class? The video teaches the students about the different parts of the body. By this lesson, the students will be able to identify body parts on their own after learning this song. C. How will this be integrated in class? The teacher will let the pupils watch the video; this will serve as an Introduction song when presenting a new lesson to the class. By presenting the video, the teacher now, integrates educational technology other than traditional way of teaching.

Summary

Response Social stories were created by Carol Gray in 1991 to help teach social skills to people with Autism. They are short descriptions of a particular situation, event or activity, which include specific information about what to expect in that situation and why. I like the website because it can be viewed easily by the viewers.I highly recommend the website to other students, parents, and teachers because it contains a lot of information.
