Dear Chainnan Obey and Ranking Member Lewis:

I am requesting funding for the Protecting the Health and Building a Prosperous Future
for At-Risk Youth in New York City progranl in fiscal year 2010. The entity to receive
funding for this project is Gay Men's Health Crisis, Inc. located at 119 West 24th Street,
New York, NY 10011. The funding will be used to launch a multiyear HIV prevention
campaign for at-risk youth with the ultimate goal of saving lives by decreasing rates of
infection among youth communities in New York City. Special emphasis will be placed
on areas where infection rates are spiking in the 10th Congressional District, and in
Brooklyn in general. Funding will also be used to empower youth with an array oflife
skills that will lead them toward success and independence. I certify that neither I nor my
spouse has any financial interest in this project.
